I’m sure young Russell would love to take the place of Bottas in the Mercedes team, after getting a taste for the car last season. No doubt Bottas is only too aware of that and feels under some pressure, hence the inevitable needle.
Frankly Bottas simply isn’t good enough to be in the best car, there are much better options for Mercedes including both young Brits Norris and Russell. I was really pleased for Norris and despite being a Lewis fan, I was hoping he would hang on to second place.
Anyway an excellent summary of the race as usual Ed, I think Lewis deserves a lot of credit for clawing his way back to finish 2nd though. Yes he did get lucky but some of his overtaking getting there, on a narrow track was nothing short of impeccable.

I thought Russel should be ashamed of his behaviour to be honest, like a spoilt child having a tantrum after in my opinion being at fault for the accident, I think the commentators would of made a bigger deal out of it if it was a foreign driver that slapped a British guy (whatever force he put into it) he should be banned for at least a race, it’s not what we want to teach our kids and if it was football he’d get at least 3 games, I agree there are better drivers than bottas for that seat i'd like to see Norris in that car.
