hi sunderland fan here just asking what cuellars like as we supposedly in talks

Cuellar was our best defender although constantly played out of position by MON and then houllier and mcliesh followed suit playing him out of position but he's best at centre half but will do a job well at right back to

He can be brilliant or a total liability he thinks he's messi and ronaldO combined when he gets the ball at his feet

Best defender at the club, not great on the ball, but a top centre back will be good signing for u, sorry to see him go

There's to much negativity, were not the richest club or the biggest but we've got great heart and pride! A few youngsters and a star signing to get the fans back on board is all we need. Villa till I die !

The Only truth about Aston Villa is we don't really know who PL will Buy, accept who the Majority would like to be sold, the rest is just speculation & fabrication.

My Out outs would be: Dunne-has reached his Medicare threshold which is less than average,Given=Cannot claim crosses, good shot stopper but reflexes worse than ever,even showed in Euro 2012 his no longer a top keeper;Warnock=Poor,Hutton=holiday rep fooballer,Nzogbia=have better youths such as Carruthers,
Delph & Albrighton=unimpressive would not get into any EPL top 7 side also showed cannot cope under pressure. To be argued by some but would consider selling Bent for £15million and get in Bas D & Balde both better all round players and cheaper on wages and they can both actually go past defenders and make things happen.

Wish list =Lindergaard/Phhilips/Ince/Hadaira/Balde/Debelle these are all affordable @Paul Lambert would also be able to stamp his own mark on the squad and give up until Jan to get the best out of the rest, he would also win over the minority who think the appointment was a compromise on 3rd best available after RM & OGS

Well we could go all out and try for kjaer, the Danish full back was on loan last season and reports are it did not gel at Roma on loan but I think he would relish a new challenge and all links seem to have dried up. If we do not try then we will never know.

Agree he would be a good signing! But he's a centre half

Samba is at Anzhi so he is probably on 80k a week, don't think he would leave that for Villa.

i would like to see 7 or 8 changes to last years squad not all of them would start week in week out, but here it goes,,,,,dann ward naughton jarvis adam ince yak defoe,and one good hard tackling centre midfield maybe andrews or scott brown of celtic, what do you guys think

If you are suggesting Keith Andrews you need to seek help, he is a league one player and should of stayed there. No movement, lack of tenacity, ineffective passing and a general lack of spark. There's a reason he is currently unemployed

When pl took over I was more than pleased with the clubs decision, but I am a little dissappionted that there has been no movement on the transfer front,we have by far the weakest squad in the league and both west ham and qpr are making decent signings whilst we stand still either the list of transfers pl give the board are all at the euros or players have been contacted and have turned us down.
I've stuck by s given but he has looked very average during the tournament and maybe his age is finally creeping up on him and with no number 2 I think there would be 1 maybe 2 keepers coming in plus we need to make a decision on wether of not makoun can cut it because we need bite in mid field as we really struggled there when stan feel Ill.
Plus we need a senior striker to help or play along side bent as weiman is to inexperienced to rely on for the whole season.
Defensively we are really weak in all 4 positions and although I'd love to see the whole lined changed but this is unrealistic so I think Hutton and collins will go and young legs will be brought in either side of dunne

We probably have signed some players but they cannot do anything until the 1st of July when the window opens, be patient

Well as the transfer window is shut its a bit hard for us to start buying players, also its mid june and the players are on holiday so how can pl see what he has. I would rather we get in place a well structured scouting network and look into good quality buys rather than just take whats on offer or obvious just to show that were spending money. I have not overly heard many player rumours where I think yes good choice so I hope that with the euros going on and Lambert now getting to shop with more money than he has ever known he is planning and just taking his time to build. {Ed003's Note - The window is open now}

Lerner wants players from the bargain basement and will not allow Lambert to spend freely, O'Neil made sure of that. We all know that freebies & Bosmans is where Lambert has to find his men. I think that some money, not bucket loads, will be spent but only on players that Lambert can guarantee will perform.

You can sign talk to any player with up to a year left on their contract freely,or submit offers to clubs at any stage of a players contract provided you have gone through the correct channel,so i agree that we are starting slow whilst others are making moves and we need to not only bring in numbers but quality players withing our price range, pay structure and ambition and only pl and rl know these boundries

We ll it looks like the first post maybe on the money another 3 excellent players we were linked to yesterday have all had bid s on them today,pogrebnyak,debauchy and v Moses early bird catches the worm and 2of the 3 clubs bidding in Chelsea and Newcastle have far superior squads in place already but are still looking to bring people in when we sit still

Villa have never been public with there business so how do you know we haven't already got deals set in place? you don't, i don't and no body does apart from the people who deal with it all at villa and the other club so just be patient and lets see what starts to come out after the 1st july

it makes me laugh that norwich fans are still coming on here saying lambert is gonna do s**t for us and they have an even better manager! well good i'm happy for you but if you're not bothered why do you still feel the need to keep coming on villas page and talking about lambert?? i would have thought you would have been over it by now? obviously not!!

if paul lambert has given the board a list of players he would like at the villa,why havent we brought anyone in yet,as usaull we will do our buying in august.

Again Lerner will want to wait and see what is available after some of the teams have bought players and then find that they have to sell to "make ends meet." I think that he believes bargains are to be had when other clubs find that they have overspent. Perhaps Lambert wants to see what he has already got at VP before he makes a final decision. We must remember that there are several youngsters and established players who might respond to a different approach to what they had last season. It would be great to see Gabby given a more exciting role where he can use his pace against defenders!!

It's still early we'll prob start signing players once the euro's finish and there's already talk the Naughton deal is all done ready for personal terms

Lambert is looking at Kyle Naughton of Spurs having taken him on loan last year.
Alan Hutton & Stephen Warnock could make way as Villa freshen up their defensive flanks with using Enda Stevens,Eric Lichaj & Kyle Naughton.

Thats if Lambert don't walk down to White Heart Lane, He Jumped to bloody soon, bet he's Kicking himself

If he does jump ship which he would really lose a lot of respect for then we will just have harry simples!

Interesting prospect. Lambert to Spuds might not work. The expectation at Spuds is Europe and Lambert is still an apprentice who will learn at VP before moving to a bigger club if villa fail to produce the goods.

Lambert may not have been on Spurs list but I think he would have been wanted at Everton when Moyes is given Harry's job on Monday

would like to see us have a look at daniel sturridge, think he would be a great signing playing just behind bent. hes could speed, power and that little bit of flair that we are lacking. cant see him getting much game time at chelsea due to their signings already. think we could get him for about 8-10 mill

There are several quality forwards available for free at present. If we went pay for play to Owen, he could be a good option. He scores the important goals, the ones we missed last season. Worth a go?

I like owen but i think their is as good shouts in .... probeynak , saha , yakaubu (pretty much next to nothing) , klasnic all these player will want less wage. saha would be better for me.

Paul Lambert has swapped the dugouts at Villa park so that the home team are closer to the Holte!

Thats OK if we are doing it well, however if as last season the results are not good, he may prefere a dugout somewhere in Afghanistan.

Since lambert has been in place, he's drawn up his targets and plans to move quickly for them.

Gk, to serve as back up to given, Jack Butland.

RB, he's going to stick with hutton and Lichaj

CB, Colins is on his way out to possibly Swansea, or West ham. In coming will be mulgrew from celtic and bassong on loan from spurs.

LB, With the signing of Mulgrew he can also play in this position, Allowing stevens to go out on loan.

RW, He is going to stick with Albrighton and N'Zogbia (As it is his fav position to play)

CM, Bridcutt is being targeted for one for the future, we're also looking at bringing in Muntari or Barnetta on a free, but wages are being a problem for both, Diame is also another potential target to add height to our small midfield and lastly . Makoun looks to be on his way out with clubs in turkey said to be chasing his signature.

LW, We're targeting Adam Johnson as our big signing, with moses also being looked at. There's also talk of putting Gabby there and keeping him there.

ST, Rodallega is being eyed up as he's on a free, with yakubu also being brought in for a knock down price of £1 Million. From this position we'll be moving on delfouneso who's signaled he'd like to leave on a permanent deal.

Possible Villa team next season.

Unless Warnock improves 1000% I don't think Lambert will tolerate him. In my opinion we need two decent full backs, a decent centre back, an attacking midfield playmaker and a second striker. Personnally, I have faith that Lambert will draft in/lick into shape the right combination of players, whether they be on frees, loans, existing squad members or new signings

Makoun will stay,youve left out hollman who has already signed plus kello(gk)deal is on the cards.every club with a bit of common sense will be in for rodeallga and diame on frees so its very unlikley we ll get either plus i think warnock and gabby will be on their way out

Another crystal ball in action. How do you know what Lambert has been doing for the last few days. I think that you are day dreaming again. Not saying that you are wrong but I am saying that you dont really know anything.

I feel sorry for Warnock, he is a solid no nonsense defender who always throws himself at everything. But he's too slow and made some calamitous mistakes last season. Probably best if he moves on though and Stevens get a shot.

Why do villa always go for second best when it comes to players and managers. I doubt whether they will ever compete with the top half of the premiership? Never mind there's always the baggies!

Best options available for attacking at home and tactics to attack on the break away

You obviously haven't watched the villa much this past season. Collins and Warnock !!! on the performances last season both are beyond their prime and need to go. As for Ireland, a handful of reasonable/good performances but he seriously needs to improve to command a regular spot ditto for N'Zogbia.

Lambert demands a high work rate and 110% effort from his teams maybe some of our existing squad will not be up for the challenge
