I can see sidwell, salifou, carew, davies, beye and possibly dunne all leaving in january as Houllier wants to stamp his mark on the side. Expect names such as Amauri, Makoun, Kranjcar, McGregor and Wheater to all join Houllier at Villa Park. Of course, Wheater's arrival could signal the end of Richard Dunne's career at Aston Villa which would be a great shame as I think he is our best central defender. The same could be said for Brad Freidel, it seems that he will be succeeded by Alan McGregor. Lastly, I hope that Warnock recovers his form from last season as we need him if we are too push into the top 6 of the table.

Totally agree on out going but Dunne our best? ?, consider Melberg, or Laurson and Dunne is nowhere near their league.
Need some creativity in middle of park other than just playing the channels all the time. Would like someone like Keane playing behind Gabby and someone like Kranjer along side Petrov with Young and Downing making runs infield. Wheater would be a good buy or someone like Samba from Blackburn.

Uhm. . Yeah. Pass to Young and hope he can produce something, that's definitely attacking football. Not to mention the hoof the ball down the field with Dunne or Collins and have the ball come right back.

Houllier actually has the defenders pass the ball around, waiting for the midfielder to move (which seems to be the BIGGEST problem). Yes, we got Pires. Pires was also training at Arsenal, keeping fit (which obviously not fully fit for 90 minutes), but fit enough to come on and hope to change the game.

Anyways:

Villa need a striker (I know Houllier said Heskey can do it but at any time, he can go 10 games without a goal and that's going to kill us. Compared to multiple strikers that are cheaper and better goal scorers we could get.

A midfielder. With Petrov not coming back to probably mid February.

I would absolutely love a LB. Get Warnock out. He's crap, last season I hugely rated him, he was fantastic. This season, he couldn't care at all about yellows, the team or even his own football.

Seems McGeady again is linked with Villa, no surprise, the media just can't keep up with real rumours so they track back to the Summer. Same with the Young story to United.

M'Vila looks like he could be joining the Premier League, would be a killer signing if Houllier can use his French connections.
