Winning trophies is the culmination and prize for all the hard work and good coaching. It's what every coach and player alike aspires to, surely.
Finishing 4th, 5th or 6th is meaningful progression but winning something tangible brings financial reward and greater media exposure.

So, playing in the CL doesn't give you more revenue and exposure to the world?
Winning a cup is what drives players, yes, agreed, but a club like ours needs revenue now.

It's imperative we finish in the CL places, Trinity. I can't say that enough for our future cause. We need CL this season foremost, before a cup this season is make or break for our future. We will simply not be able to break the monotony of the so-called Big 6 revenue takes.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to win a cup, like all teams in the world, but for now we need CL this season.
And for people to want the best thing apart from NWSE to happen to our club to go is, in my opinion, downright ridiculous. 4 years in Europe, 4 years top 6 with mainly the squad that he inherited, because we simply cannot spend, is nothing short of a miracle, and before anyone jumps on me with saying but he's made signings too, yes he has, and some haven't worked out.

We can achieve that one of two ways. Finishing 5th or winning Europa.
I want CL by winning the Europa. If we don't, I'll take 5th place.
There are countless thousands of Villa fans who have never seen Villa win anything. Anyone under the age of 30, in fact.
I remember those feelings of winning something, which cannot be erased. I want my lads to experience it.
Let's give it a good go on Thursday and get to that final.
Then, on Sunday, pick up the points we need. We'll all be happy with that.
