I'm not at all concerned, Villa will definitely make signings before this window closes but they may go right until the last day before we hear anything, 100% incoming(s)

I hope you’re right and feel we must be close to signing someone but you just know you’re going to get blitzed by some on here if we don’t sign anyone or anyone of significance.
Monday and Tuesday are going to be very busy for Villa one way or another.

Tyrone Mings has removed "player at Bournemouth fc" from his Insta Bio, what this means is anyones guess, now let me think.

Word out suggests that Tammy will be looking to continue his future at Chelsea as expected by most fans. Axel Tuanzebe is also very unlikely to return.

I do however fully expect Tyrone Mings to join us and with Villa having a right to match any bid clause on his loan contract along with the fact that the player wants to leave I think this one is just a matter of time.

Anwar El Ghazi and Kortney Hause both have a view to buy clause so I expect them both to also sign.

Neal Maupay is once again linked and is strongly tipped to join and so too Joe Lolley with O'Neill already stating that he won't stand in the players way. This is of course speculation and subject to Smith wanting them.

Obviously there is already many others linked and many more will be added to that list over the coming months. The future does now look bright with Smith showing his worth by taking us up and proving the doubters wrong.

The premier League is of course a different ball game and those thinking we will just buy players and finish in the top six may have to think again. We will need time and patience to build a squad worthy of those dizzy heights and if we do manage that in our first season then drop to your knees because Smith must truly be a god. UTV.

We need to be looking higher then Tammy. don't get me wrong he was amazing in the Championship but as we all know the PL is tougher.

2.) 30 May 2019 11:26:25
Hello all, first time post so be gentle. I agree we need to be realistic about next season as there was a guy on the radio saying we would get a champions league place.

I think all the rumours are lazy journalism at the moment. I think if we hear anything it will be out of left field from other sources rather than from Villa Park as with Hause. Also, Mings came from nowhere too if i recollect, and nobody was aware of Guilbert. I think we have a more professional set up now and they keep cards very close to their chest.

Putting a squad together to challenge for promotion is not an easy task for any manager, however putting a squad together when you've not even had one full transfer window is impossible.

If you don't give Smith the time to build his own team how can he possibly succeed? How is he to realise his potential when idiots call for his head before letting him build a team.

Foolish fans who expect instant results are deluded, gone are the days of being able to pump millions into the club to put a team together in less than one window.
I say, get real and give the man a chance and ignore the comments of the impatient.

Except he works as a coach, not a manager. He has openly said that while he may provide general input to what the squad requires, he doesn't like to be involved in anything further.
His only real requirement seems to be a willingness to learn and adapt which is all well and good but ability is necessary.
The problem for us is that we will be priced out of moves for genuinely good players due to being Villa which leaves us paying over the odds for average players. The majority of these players either know they are at their pinnacle with us so happy to pick up their top wages and stop trying or are using us as a stepping stone to the EPL and are arrogant and selfish.

Seen a rumour going around that Villa have already lined up another loan deal with Chelsea for an Abraham replacement, Hence terry's visit.

Any thoughts.

Honestly? Couldn’t care less. We’ve become such a mess now. Relying on loans is a quick fix and really don’t want to see another one turn up only to leave at the end of the season.
Sick and tired of excuses from the club now. Guaranteed 4 seasons in the Chumpionship and probably another few after that.

2.) 06 Jan 2019 15:24:43
Agree you get nothing from loans improveing other clubs players, welldone bruce, that's why u sign your own players if we don't go up or reach play offs its not deanos fault past manager mistakes its nxt season that matters this season is a free hit really its not his team yet still bruces with all his signings still in team, until its his team we can't judge villa yet.

Smith is very much looking to build a young fast paced squad, anyone thinking that he is going to put together a squad of yesteryear players will be very disappointed.

Smith is a man who knows what he wants and who are we to argue after what he has just achieved. The club is moving forward and it is bright and refreshing to see along with very exciting. UTV.

Not much sign of Villa4eva calling for managers heads and players to be axed after 7 wins on the spin. Our season looked all but over a few months ago and now we look certain to make the playoffs, with those very players and manager. So you would expect everyone to be positive and full of joy and happiness posting on here, but is it? The doom and gloom and negativity continues to appear in posts even though things are now going well. If you can't enjoy the good times when they arrive why bother, it appears some fans are far happier when the wheels fall off.

AVillaFan, good post and I agree . Surely with the position we are now in, we hav to be positive.
Big, Big game tomorrow, another 3 points and we will be even more positive HaHa .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever .

Avillafan people don't enjoy it when we loose, and people are aloud different views, i'm just setting bck and watching where we if its the prem great championship so be it, lifes too short to moan about football now can't be arsed haha.

3.) 12 Apr 2019 16:14:36
We all want the best and things are fine and dandy, however I am not sure anyone should be using the word "certain" cautiously optimistic, positive, good chance, yes, "certain" don't know where that comes from though.

4.) 12 Apr 2019 18:16:32
I agree, bang on scotty.

20 Jan 2019 00:25:14
All those who are moaning about Smith are the very same people who called for Bruce to go. I was one who did back Bruce back then as I do back all our managers, so I will now also stand up and back Smith.

Smith hasn't had a full window yet and is pretty much having to get by with Bruce's squad, so to even judge or criticize him now is just folly and shows just how little you know about the game.

One in an hundred managers will take over a club and have fairy tale results from the word go, and even then he may never emulate that same feat again. You all wanted Bruce out which is fair enough, but you have to live with the consequence of doing so and "time" is one of those said conquences.

It could take Smith 2-3 seasons to get a squad of his own liking together and for any of us to see the benefit or failure of his doing. So in the meantime, if you are a true Villa fan then I suggest you get behind the club and manager with your full support, quit the moaning and show patience to reap the rewards of your own decision. Negative talk at this point is just none productive, disruptive and pointless, It's also just what opposition fans want to see.

Get behind your club . UTV.

I couldn’t agree more avilla fan

The team that smith inherited is one which is totally unbalanced and need to be ripped apart and started again with .

Being Brutally honest out of the entire team there is less than a handful that I would keep .

Those being

Kalinic
Mcginn
Grealish
Kodjia (maybe)
Green
Davis
El Ghazi (option to purchase)
Possibly Hourihane . but there are better

The rest I would sell or move on . It should be a cull top to bottom.

We are talking about players most have which have had plenty of opportunity to produce the goods for 2-3 managers.

Great to have him, he can play all over the midfield which is so useful plus he is a damn good player too and a constant goal threat.

The difference is that Cheltenham although a division lower are pushing for promotion therefore creating many scoring opportunities, Burton on the other hand are sitting bottom of the table and producing very few chances each match. A striker can look poor when the team around him is also poor so I think he will start to shine a little more.

I didn't, I said at the time it was disruptive to swap managers and that time would be needed for him to build his own team. Now all those wanting Bruce out aren't prepared to give the new manager any time, ridiculous.

What another one! Smith hasn't even had time to build his own squad.
You can't keep swapping managers every time we have a bad spell that would foolish.
