Just a bit of perspective to yesterday's game, true it wasn't the best and everyone expected us to steamroll them comfortably but that's not the premier league. I believe poor teams are dragging us down to their level and our slow build up play doesn't help us, but we are 5 points better off than this time last season and have conceded 11 goals so far which is half of what we shipped in same period last season so definitely an improvement.
Not pretty at times and definitely frustrating but the improvement is there to see and with little to no change in personnel.
I think we will dip into the market January and pick up a couple of signings (loan or buy) and hopefully send Sancho packing as Elliot already looks like he will be going back.
All in all we've got some tricky games coming up and hopefully playing better teams will bring out the best in us. UTV in Unai we trust

Very reasonable and balanced reflections there Shew and in general I agree.
Have noticed the comments on our attacking play and wanting more excitement, but as a few have suggested, it's a balancing act and should be looked at in the context of how the league as a whole is panning out.
The reality is we're up against it to get in the top 6 and Emery is working miracles even getting us into the conversation, and all this is happening in a changing premiere league where teams are a lot more tactically aware than in the past and games are far more frequently a game of chess rather than basketball games. We'd all love the luxury of dominating possession and full throttle attacking, but that just isn't realistic.at least for now. I get frustrated too when the pre match atmosphere ramps up and then we have 50 passes across the back 4 in the first 10 mins, we all know it's not as 'exciting' as it could be, but equally, it's very exciting being in and chasing champions league places, which is Emery's top priority.
Can we really say as a fan base we'd now accept finishing 9th having dropped needless points in the hunt for entertainment? The Emery out brigade only need a brief drop in form to pipe up, so it's no surprise Emery (or I suspect any other manager) is focusing on points first.
The quality of our attack has been (at least in my view) the main factor in us not achieving even more than we already have for a few seasons now. Yes, we've had some transfers that haven't worked out as we'd hoped, which team hasn't, but we're moving in the right direction despite this, PSR, needing to sell at times etc. i'm sure the club will be looking to improve this, but for now I suggest we support the team, appreciate the manager and manage our expectations just a tad to reflect the world we're in, not the world we want.

Fulham just had a really exciting game where they scored 4 goals.
They lost and are down in 15th.
Bournemouth getting plaudits left, right, and centre this season are now back to mid-table where you expect them to be.
