you need to build reputation!

you must be in Europe, consistantly!
✔️To be in Europe consistantly,
you must win most games.
✔️To win most games,
you need good players!
✔️Good players cost alot, and have high wages,
OR when developed, will demand high wages!

Key word - Consistantly!

Villa are in the middle of this process!
It will be a balancing act. Until the revenue is at the level where Villa get more freedom. (£400M++)
Sell when we want!
Buy when we want!
Create a recriutment strategy where we have time to develop our own. And don't have to sell them because of non-competitive regulations!

And btw,
the smartest strategy regarding recriutment, when transfer income still is the most important revenue stream. Is to buy young, close to ready. Not pay premium. Have them for 5-6 years. Then sell before their value decreases.

And imo, that is why Villa are shopping (yes, I believe they are) Martinez, Digne, Watkins, maybe even others.

Assuming this mornings news is correct (Wiki page says he's signed) then the young Dutch lad is a prime example of Dazs 'buy young' comment. He has a whiff of Duran about him. And, were he to become a first team regular in the seasons ahead, would return a tidy profit given he cost nowt. It is very clinical but that will be Villas thinking.
