Well I did always state that Bruce was our best chance to go up this season and although Bruce being replaced was predictable and possibly called for, I really don't see that the change has improved our chances of promotion this term in the slightest. I'm not saying that Bruce would have took us up if he wasn't sacked but I do think he was our best chance this term.

This was always my fear and argument, the disruption of a change in leadership along with the time needed for a manager to build his own squad to induce his own style of football, this was always going to stand a big chance of resulting in championship football for at least the next couple of seasons.

The fans were unhappy with Bruce for letting slip on our chances of promotion before his demise but the way things are shaping up we may end up in a relegation battle. 3 points from nine after playing mid table nothing clubs is not the start we wanted for a new manager and it does nothing to install any sort of confidence. We now even find ourselves with the rare indignity of sitting below blues who let's face it are useless themselves.

Sadly, I don't see much improvement coming either in the near future and I can even see us losing to blues in the coming weeks, that is how low we have once again sunk. This most definitely isn't what I wanted for this season and I can only sit and hope for some small miracle and change in fortune but sadly for me this season is already dead. :- (.

You have your opinion on Bruce.
My opinion is that he stayed to long.
The timing of the change could have been better because of our failing in defence where we conceded 20 goals in first 10 games Smith has to put up with this defence until Christmas before he can bring in his players.
I can see a big difference in playing style and not for missed chances and sloppy defending we should have had at least
7 points from them 3 games,
But it's all about fine margins really.
I'm happy with Smith and I hope the owners give him real backing for as long as it takes to get back in premiership.
I'm hoping this year he can do it but if not so be it.
At least now I can see proper football on the pitch instead of pure dross from game to game.

I knew it wouldn't be long before Villa4eva came up with more of his none productive posts, If you read my post and have something constructive to say then fair play, but if the best you can do is to come up with some childish comment about crying over Bruce then save it for the playground because it isn't even worth reading. Glad your back to school Monday you have much to learn.
