Any1 getting worried by lack of transfers while are rivals are getting stronger.if things are this bad why not just cash out on rodgers, or bouba to generate funds because at this moment in time this transfer window reminds me of oneils last window at villa and we all know how that turned out, if no1 comes in we can forget about CL and top7, its been a shocking transfer window for villa in every way in comings and out goings its not going to be a good season for villa i recon could be wrong time will tell, i still have a little bit of hope lol

Jonny, however you look at it we are in a dire financial mess. We have paid far too much in players wages versus our income, this is absolutely unsustainable hence the transfer problems. If we sell our best players we will ease the problem, if the lack of incoming quality doesn't match then your forecast could easily be bang on.I find it interesting that a big percentage of our champions league qualifying team were in Smith and Gerard's Teams, so what we have bought and significant increase in wages has cost us a fortune all round and has contributed to our debt. I can't see a quick fix because things are so dire and restrictions with both the premier league and Uefa means this will take a long time to unravel.

Agree scotty we could have a reset by starting again by selling our crown jewells, this is when unai should start blooding our best youngsters now, its going to be a depressing season not looking forward to newseason nothing worse when u can't sign any players, well i suppose we only have ourselfs to blame don't spend what u don't have, also i think we need move from villapark and build a stadium that's 65thou or 70thou its the only way we can compette with the bigboys, if we are in trouble i hope unai and owners don't leave because our owners rnt happy because rules are preventing villa from competting, plus if your a rich billioninaire wots the point owning a football club when u can't put your money into the club

I think we need to get things into perspective here, the money we paid out in salaries in no small part enabled us to get to the quarter final of the CL and semi final of the FA cup so that will have contributed in terms of the prize money we received. So are we in financial difficulties in terms of income to salary then the answer is yes but that is why we will be releasing some of the big earners before the season starts and I think we are taking a safety first approach ie getting rid of those salaries before bringing anyone else in. So for example if we were to sell Martinez and Digne having already got Coutinho’s wages off the books that will have saved us somewhere in the region of £500k a week that will bring us certain headroom within which to operate. We are also looking to move Nedjelkovic and Buendia on as well as the likes of Barry I think we just need to be patient.

I agree with you Mings. We have no debt. Building a bigger stadium is pointless unless we have a good team. I was at the home game against Southampton the season we got relegated. There were only 20k supporters there! We'd have a big empty stadium! Anyway I'm sure there's a plan and it'll be executed.
