I'm glad that's over, I'm not sure what to think about our window, on paper we look weaker in the attacking third, maybe Emery see's something that we don't, most on here wanted to see better cover for Martinez, a better RB and a quality winger come in, we got none of these, all the paper talk all summer but in reality we don't know how hard we tried or if indeed these were ever on the menu, I find it hard to believe that we had no backup plan to Felix, I have to admit I'm disappointed in our business I didn't mind losing luiz when we got Onana instead but to not replace Diaby I think will come back to bite us, we spent circa 50 million on Philogene, illing jnr, Enzo and Dobbin, we loaned out 3 of them and to be honest when Philogene came on against West Ham he looked like a headless chicken, maybe he will come good but when we needed someone to create against Arsenal he wasn't brought on which leads me to believe that Emery didn't think he was ready, I don't want to be a negative Nelly but if anything happens Ollie, Bailey or Martinez we are basically screwed, surely that 50 million could of being better spent on 1 or 2 players that would make us stronger for the next couple of years?
I'm excited for the season ahead but it has put a bit of a dampener on things, I know we have players coming back but by the law of averages we will have injuries over the season I just hope when they happen they won't be major ones and not to our most important players. all the hype about Monchi but I just don't see what he's done apart from break even on Diaby and have his pants pulled down for Luiz

PSR has had a real impact on our business this term and unless the rules change significantly will continue to do so whilst our revenue streams remain low in comparison to our competitors. I think that as you say we got the worse end of the deal when it came to Luiz but given the need to get money in before the end of June I think we ended up having little option but to do the deal with Juventus as we were unable to generate other interest in the player. I think overall when you include loan fees etc we will probably have pulled in enough to break even from the window. In terms of the addition of a quality right back and winger that would have been ideal, but that would add another £70-80 million spend to our balance sheet, and would you be prepared to have to sell either Watkins or Martinez next summer to comply with PSR as a result of those purchases? I for one wouldn’t. So I think overall the window has been ok not brilliant but not as poor as some ie. Newcastle.

I've just looked at our squad depth and believe me it's not that bad infact it's far better than last season.

Squad is better than last season villa will be fine, emi or watkins won't be sold nxt season orless we get mega bids, plus there is new psr rules nxt season, overal i'd give transfer window a 7 maatsen class lb, onnana is a beast in midfield does a lot of dirty work aswell, barkley is a good squadie, biddace is young and is a talent and look what unai did with rogers in 6months, illing jnr young and gone on loan to a champions league club, and barrencha gone to valencia hopefully they both do well and we keep them as squadies or sell for a profit, don't get why people are on monchi bck what has he done wrong sone people just like to moan wasnt it monchi that said to sign rodgers aswell
