So we are losing Michael Beale by the looks of things. Anyone else worried by this? Last year we lost JT and ROK and look what happened. Ultimately cost DS his job. Why have we not made him an offer he can't refuse? We're spending it for fun everywhere else.

Different circumstances but this definitely feels like ROK all over again, the managers main man leaving. Hopefully we find the right replacement this time or Gary Mac can step up and have the same effect on players.

Sometimes Villa56 it isn’t about money it’s about wanting to be your own man and testing yourself against other coaches. I think it will be interesting to see what the club does because I have read a number of reports which suggest that he is the brains in the outfit, that being the case then we need to be smart in who we recruit to replace him

I am not sure that Alonso is a legitimate rumour I think it refers to a quote Gerard made when he was finishing off his playing career and just about to start on his managerial journey when he said his dream number 2 would either be Alonso or Carragher. Given Carragher’s Sky commitments I think some people are putting 2 and 2 together and possibly coming up with 5.

The amount of coaching staff he had I would imagine Gary Mac just steps up as the official number 2 and at most we add another coach.
Number 2s may come and go but their influence can be massively overlooked.
United started slipping after Queroz left even though Fergie managed to keep them competitive. While we had a short term surge under Shakespeare it felt like the steady foundations ROK and Terry provided were eroding beneath the surface.
