I see the silly season is approaching as we near the transfer window opening, one minute we are shopping at Aldi with the likes of Connor Goodson being linked the next minute at Marks and Spencer's with the likes of Pau Torres.

I think a lot of these rumours are lazy journalism with little if any substance behind them. One thing I do hope is we don't go back to raid Rangers I am not sure any of those linked are better than what we have currently.

Anything to do with the Bham mail on line reporting is a load of BS .I only look at then now,to see all the readers, finding different ways of telling them how rubbish they are .I thought there was a move on to stop fake journalism,
obviously doesn’t include them .

It’s pretty pathetic seeing all the different ways they can headline the same story. if I was that bad at my job I’d find myself unemployed pretty quick, bunch of frauds.

Bham Mail is not alone doing this. I have looked at the Man U and Newcastle FC local papers and they all do the same. Most annoying.

Agree with everything said about lazy journalism, however there are occasionally articles with well informed journo's. I have this morning that Traore is on the way out, which is not at all surprising. On reflection our attacking purchases can't be called anything but disappointing. We must have spent close to 100 million on players that will not help us push towards a top six side. I just hope that the latest additions, Ings, Bailey and Buendia don't follow the last lot.

Agree with most of this but I think it's a bit harsh suggesting the club has wasted 100m in previous seasons on signings that won't get us into the top 6 - the reality is that they probably weren't expected to get us into the top 6. The club has evolved from being a mid table championship team to finishing mid table in the prem, thanks to many of those signings. We had an old, low value, sub standard squad and required a massive overhaul. Yes, we probdbly paid over the odds at times but that's par for the course to attract better players to a newly promoted/relegation threatened team. Look back at the player turnover Man City had in the first 3/4 seasons post-takeover. Our expectations have grown now and I'm sure the club will start looking at recruiting to match the next phase of the plan, we just need to have a little perspective and let them get on with it. The difference is now we'll get decent transfer fee's for many of those that need to be moved on, rather than sending players to Australia on loan and running down contracts.

My thoughts exactly DBS. Certain players may not be the level to push the top 6 but there's not many we won't get at least our money back on if we sell meaning it's not wasted.
Most of those players were also bought for £5mill-£15mill which value wise is a batch of lower to mid table level players who have all improved.
We can't call for patience on Gerrard and in the same breath slate the new signings for not being fully on the same page as their teammates yet.
