RIP villadave

I don’t really post on here much anymore for reasons I’ve stated before, but I refer to these as they have given me a guy who I became reasonably close with, as we attempted to leave and create a rival forum. Villadave.

Our forum didn’t work out as we wanted, so Dave, myself and the other guys involved, (I won’t mention names incase they don’t want to be known) came back to this site.
It was the correct decision.

However I became quite close with Dave setting up the site, getting to know each other a little. What a man.
A true gent, a passionate villa supporter, an argumentative so and so! But a true friend

As our break away site started to fall, I stopped the contact, I didn’t stay in touch either through phone, email and I left our group chat. Yes I’m also a stubborn argumentative so and so also.

I came on here today to just be nosy, and spotted a post relating to Dave’s death. I’m devastated. Feel I left him feeling badly of me, and that although I couldn’t be there at the end in person, I’m ashamed I couldn’t of been there in spirit.

Let this be a lesson guys. Don’t hold grudges. Don’t let a stupid point become a battle. Mend bridges.

I’m privileged to of ‘worked’ on our project together, I’m honoured to of called him a friend, and I’m humbled to see all the lovely messages from all fans from all forums for him.

RIP villadave a giant among men

Very well said flackie and very poignant, we all feel the same for his loss. It's sometimes difficult to put into words but you've spoken from the heart and I'm sure if he's looking down he'll be smiling.
Gone but never forgotten.

Beautiful post Flackie, heartfelt and genuine. Your still missed on here Flackie, but can understand your reasons .
Once again RIP Dave and deepest condolences to his family.
