so grealish (snake) had a release clause inserted in his contract already? so, the little snake has been planning to bail out for twelve months the management mustn't let their pants get pulled down like this again.

I was surprised by this release clause also. He penned a new deal because he liked and believed in the project can’t have liked it or believed in it that much it was ready to bail 12 months after. Oh well on wards and up wards we will be stronger (hopefully) with the new incomings I believe we have done most of our business now though. Might see one last buy but doubt it UTV!

I think some people need to take a reality check Grealish is not a snake he is looking to optimise his ability and to play with a side that will be competing for trophies at the highest level with a coach who is regarded as one of the best if not the best in the business. Whilst we are an improving side in reality we are not going to be at that level for a number of years so his decision purely from a professional perspective makes sense. Also let’s not forget Jack could have bailed out when we got relegated he didn’t and got us back up. When the new contract was signed the £100 million clause must have seemed extremely unlikely that anyone would trigger it but City did but even though they did I believe the deal represents good business for Villa £100 million is an extremely good fee and I believe the squad will be stronger and the team less reliant on one individual, with a couple more quality signings I genuinely believe we can challenge the big six with an outside chance of the top 4.

Snake? Give your head a wobble.

Your telling me that if you had the opportunity to go earn equal/ more money and higher chance at bonuses for less hours you wouldn't take it?

He's been at the club 19yrs through good times and bad.
He could of left when we went down, as he had a release clause then.

You can't get higher club reward than winning the champions League and fair play to him for having the desire to.

Majority of players have some sort of release clause.

100m for someone who has played half a season for the past 3 seasons is great business.

You'll still be shouting his name come World cup.

Really annoys me. He stayed loyal when we were in the championship, helped get us back to premier league and helped keep us there. I wish the lad every success. Some people need to grow up, jealousy can be a formidable beast.

To be fair he is a snake and a liar, as was pointed out above he said “he believed in the project” well the project wasn’t over, he can’t of believed in it or he wouldn’t of asked for a release clause, but he’s gone now so that’s the end of it, let’s focus on the players we have instead of those we lost.
UTV💪
P. S he also was a snake on Ireland, playing for us was great when England didn’t want him but he dropped us like a hot snot when England decided he was good enough to play for them, same thing at villa, gone as soon as a decent team bid for him.

And the loyalty thing, when did he remain loyal? The spuds wouldn’t pay enough for him or he would of being sold before NSWE took over, he would of being gone in a flash had they met our asking price when we were in financial trouble, he would of being gone to united last summer only they didn’t lodge a bid and further more at the same time he set up this transfer last year while lining his pockets with a double your money deal.
at the end of the day we got well paid for him so all is good for villa and our project is moving forward, looking at what other clubs fans are saying about our board and ownership we seem to be the envy of the league outside the top 4 or 5.

Whack I’m surprised at you, you can believe in a project without necessarily seeing it through to a conclusion, also I would be interested to know whether the release clause was purely at Jacks discretion or whether the club also felt the clause was the best way of protecting there investment? One thing I am pretty certain on is it wasn’t Jack that set the £100 million figure. Re the Irish thing I am of Irish extraction myself so I get the fact that we want the best players to play for Ireland but again it comes down to wanting to test yourself against the world’s best and be competitive at that level and with the best will in the world Ireland ain’t going to do that any time soon. The problem is with the rules in my opinion not the players so for me at whatever level if you commit to a country then that should tie you to that country full stop you shouldn’t be able to change your allegiance. I also don’t think you can say when the first decent side came in for him he went, Spurs came in for him and were a top 4 side at the time I think, we were in the championship and he stayed loyal I really don’t think we should begrudge him his move.

If he believed in it he wouldn’t be saying he has to move to win trophies, the best way of protecting your investment is having no release clause, that way you can set your own price at any given time and the power is all with the club that own the player. spurs came in for him mate and he was all set to go but spurs wouldn’t pay our asking price and as he had no release clause that left us with the power to tell them to do one. if levy had paid up before Nswe saved our ass then he would of being gone in a flash, he didn’t have a choice but to stay loyal, as soon as he had a choice he left. he’d be at united if they had tried to buy him last year.
I’m not bitter over it, it’s done now, I do hope he wins nothing with city but that’s not just because of him, I don’t like city.
the Irish thing is old news we are all over and done with that but it’s just another example of him being a snake at the back of it all. and I don’t know if you follow Irish football but we play all the same teams that England play and we have won exactly the same amount of international trophies in the last 50 years that England have.

Got a flip to all this… Purslow said that the clause was if a club in the Champions League places if Villa hadn’t made the top 4 offered £100M he could leave, we were there or thereabouts till he had his ‘ahem’ calf injury so he didn’t help us get there did he? Lucky his ‘rehab’ got him ready in time for the Euros though. I’m of Irish descent too and I can understand where Whackie is coming from but the moment is over now, he should’ve played from the start in most of them games, while that clown is coach of England they will never have as good a chance of winning a tournament. Maybe if England had of won Jack might have stayed, it’s a trophy after all 🤷🏼‍♂️

UTV.

Being over something don’t make you forget it, we are just talking about facts here, I’m delighted with the signings we have made and I don’t think jack will be missed as much as people think, I think buendia and bailey will do the business for us and we know ings is going to score goals, and he gets some screamers I can’t wait to see us play,

should have given 1 more season. plenty of years to play champions league 1 more year for your club would not have hurt 1 bit.
