Been linked with Sterling and Chalobah of Chelsea

Daily Mail says we’ve been offered Sterling so it must be true ? Also says Unai is not sure if he’d fit in with his plans, which I think is pretty much what everyone else on here is saying.

The Sterling rumour seems to be gathering some traction. Undoubtedly a good player on his day (fewer and further between now) but are those days behind him?
I wouldn’t want him if it meant letting Duran go especially in the opposite direction. Chelsea would definitely be getting the better of the deal in that scenario.

For me sterling is another Felix, can’t say I’d be to bothered if we didn’t get him it’s a high risk signing, quality player when he’s on it but we haven’t seen much of it in recent years

I would rather have Southgate as manager than Sterling playing for us

Sterling had one less goal/assist than Diaby last season. Our fans deemed Diaby a quality signing but Sterling is deemed not good enough for us?

Devil's advocate. Diaby was on nowhere near as much per week as Sterling so better value for money. FYI though that I thought other than end product against lesser teams Diaby didn't bring much to the party.
I will use the same argument for Sterling as I did for Felix though, rating his time at Chelsea when most of the team around him were terrible is not indicative of his quality.
Sterling proved with City that he can be a difference maker, turning controlled possession into meaningful attacks.
I think he'd get good numbers for us but at the same time stifle Rogers. I also wouldn't want to lose Duran to gain Sterling just because our team doesn't work with a false 9.

Isn’t this Sterling thing just about we haven’t signed anyone in the past few weeks so let’s just settle for him? Has Emery been chasing him all summer? I don’t think so so why should we go for someone not wanted by the club he’s with? You could also say Felix was not wanted by his club so why should we have gone for him? We don’t need Sterling, walk away

We've got into a better habit of buying the better players from teams with offers they can't refuse, however, 2 words destroy the 'not wanted by his club' argument and they are Emi Martinez.
There has to be some hint of availability for clubs to come sniffing. I think most expected the likes of Mudryk to be available first until Sterling was left out of the squad.
I don't think we're actually interested, the bedroom journalist's are just looking at us as the only Champions League team who have a space up there and have had to move on from the Felix links. All I'm saying is that he's better than he gets credit for and we could do a lot worse.
