Hi all hope your all well I've tried searching everywhere to see if there is a release clause in Jack's contract but can't find anything I know Ed02 is very clued up on things like this and perhaps they could shed some light on this? Personally I think Jack does have one and it would be in the region of 70-80 million mark and I'd say IMO that's a fair valuation.

{Ed002's Note - Release clauses and even termination clauses in England are very rare. If he is sold it will require negotiation.

No release clause daz, and if he had 1 for 80 million then why would City allegedly be preparing a 100 million offer, you’ve answered your own question there lol.

How come they are so popular abroad Ed? It seems like nearly every player in Spain has one, sometimes the youngsters over there are rumoured to have ridiculous ones before there even close to being stars.

{Ed002's Note - It varies Chi’s - in Spain and Portugal there is a legal requirement for “buy out” clauses - in much of German and Italy there are “termination clauses”. In France, the Netherlands and England it is less common.}

Thanks Ed that's why I couldn't find it then. I do believe he will sign 1 more year then if we don't get a European spot he will leave. I also believe that Man C are more in the market for a striker rather than someone like Jack.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it will continue as we have previously discussed - AV wont want to sell, if the player wants a way out then they will ask for around £100M and perhaps accept £89M.}

As I said previously this is a win win for us, if he goes we have circa £100 million to invest in the squad, if he stays we have one of the best players in the premier league in our squad. Happy days. 😁.

John do you think 100m is enough to replace Grealish? Might sound silly but I think we all agree we can't replace him directly but do you think 3 x 40M players would be more valuable to Villa than Grealish? As mad as it sounds, I'm torn :-)

So for me BK I genuinely think if you can strike the right deals I think it could benefit us, so I have said on a previous post if City want Jack, they have to include Jack Harrison as part of the deal we then have something like £80 million as an adjustment.

As an example you could use that cash to sign the likes of Abraham and Ward-Prowse and move McGinn further forward. I also think that the other benefit of something like I have outlined is that such an approach gives you options so you could play with 2 quality strikers up top.

I am not saying I want Jack to leave but if that happens I don’t think it’s the end of the world either.

Thanks John, understand your perspective and agree Jack Harrison would probably match Grealishs output (goals and assists) but for me we still need to replace his creativity and his ability to carry the ball and take the ball in tight areas, his ability to do this takes so much pressure off us at times and allows us to reset defensively or alternatively attack at speed. A massively ambitious option would be Houssem Aouar at Lyon but we have zero chance of getting him and that's the real problem for me with losing Grealish, the players that would slot in seemlessly and help us replace him (in the aggregate) are most likely unobtainable!

BK I don’t think you can get a like for like replacement for Jack not too many like him about in fact I can’t think of anyone at the moment to be honest, however even if there was one I think there aspirations would be higher than joining us at present sadly.
