So, back in the championship again it seems, it's all very nice saying who we want to keep, but the truth is most of the first team will be gone, we'll see who has loyalty and who is a mercenary, and more to the point, knowing the lack of planning by the management, we'll see how many players we let go for next to nothing because their on big money and won't move on unless we take a hit, for me the first signing would a player in the mould of Glenn Murray, no nonsense-get-on-with-it type, a few seasoned journeyman pros' and whatever nuggets of bronze (no gold left! ) we can find, put that together with a large dollop of loaned-in players and a few token youth team players to come on as subs and hey presto, we're all set! just to say if and when we're confirmed as down you watch how many clubs come in for mcginn, when he's fit he'll grace any team he plays in, our Brazilian contingent will fly the coup and all we'll have left are the likes of Courteney Hause, hardly inspiring, and surprise surprise, the name of Alex Neil has been banded about again, maybe a good fit, the plot thickens .

Defo we need a new team let's blood our own players and don't loan any players, we made that mistake last time.

I think we need to balance our approach whilst I agree most of the team have performed well below expectations there are players worth keeping but I do agree we will see if any of those will remain to help us get back but in my opinion we need a mixed approach with blooding some of our own youngsters with some experienced pro’s but also let’s not rule out using youngsters from other prem clubs it worked well for Derby in there run to the play offs and also for us with Tammy so let’s not rule out that approach if it works for us.
One of the things I wished Deano had done when he took over was bring Brentford’s scouting team with him there recruitment over the last few years has been superb they buy cheap and sell high they sold Maupay and Konsa for over £30 million and bought Jansson, Mbuemo and Pinnock for peanuts Mbuemo and Pinnock are now being touted for big money moves should Brentford not get promoted and we haven’t even talked about Watkins and Benrarma oh for a recruitment approach like that.

Our whole outlook will have to change for the championship, hopefully we get it 100% right this time and no quick fixes. A measured, steady, sustainable approach is required no scattergun buying the best championship teams best players and hoping they make a team. Specific players for specific roles and the type of football we'll be playing. whenever we decide what that is of course.

I agree Moose, on the whole if we can keep the likes of Konsa Guilbert Hourihane Samatta Davis incorporate some of the youngsters like Barry, Ramsey O Hare (if he stays), then if we can pick up a couple of decent wingers in my opinion we have a sound base to look forward to the new season with a degree of optimism. However for me left back is a problem I don’t think either Taylor or Targett are good enough defensively and i can’t readily think of a replacement I would replace them with, also if I am honest I am not wholly convinced by Samatta up top I think we have to give the guy a chance but I think we will need to ensure we have someone capable to knock the goals in come the start of the new season.
I also think if Jack is going to Utd as all the rumours suggest he is then I think we should definitely try to get Tuanzebe as part of the deal given Utd are looking for another big name centre half and they already have Maguire Lindelof Baillie not to mention Jones and Smalling I don’t see him getting regular first team football anytime soon at Utd.
