Who played well, who didn't was of absolutely no consequence tonight, anyone who was there realised the enormity of the 95th minute goal. The stadium was still 75% full singing sweet Caroline well after the final whistle. It wasn't pretty at time's and we could of easily been two down if Reina hadn't made that save.
Still loads of improvement needed, however perhaps that result may just give us the momentum to push on. Lots of the team were no better than 6 out of 10, and we are no better than a struggling premier side, however I think some of the team will be lifted by tonight.
The passion they showed at the final whistle shows to me that playing for Aston Villa means something, so faults and all we can survive but many of the team must do better. For Villadave and a couple of others, I thought Targett did ok tonight and just cringe at the thought if Taylor had been on the field tonight.

I agree Scotty. I thought Targett had a good game and thank God we signed Reina. For the last 20 mins of the 1st half I thought we lost our way a bit - not so much no recognizable striker but no recognizable footballer on the pitch. However, everyone put in a shift in the second half and we got what we deserved. Just a pity Deeney didn't get crocked in the process.

Good summary of the game Scotty, and I do agree with you entirely mate.
Like you say we rode our luck a bit, but that in itself can have a positive effect especially you get away with it.
Looking forward to getting Ally up top, we are desperately short of purpose and instinctive behaviour, our attacks are rushed and snappy, and just fizzle out.
We need someone to help him though, for everyone its socks up.
