Journalists do drive me to distraction with some of the crap they write. The latest nonsense to come out of TBR is that Arsenal are so desperate to sign Chukwuemeka because they see him as a real talent someone who would automatically start, that they are willing to pay £30 million for him now just to be sure they win the race for his signature. Come on! get real, no club is going to pay £30 million for an 18 year old who is struggling to establish himself in our first XI and in the last year of his contract with apparently no intention of signing a new one. This is poor journalism trying to create a story when there isn't one.

I think a lot of this is his agent trying to drum up some serious interest before he actually makes a decision on his future, he’s suddenly been linked with a whole host of top clubs in the past week or so after more or less nothing happening for months. I would imagine he’s got some sort of deadline to make a decision by…

Definitely driven by Chukwuemeka's agent - To be honest, it's tiresome now, he's got bags of potential and will probably go on to be a very good player but I won't lose sleep over him leaving. The way Villa's academy is looking there'll be another Chukwuemeka around very soon.

BK. I know what you're saying but my concerns are that we keep producing the so called next best thing but other than JJ and Jack they never seem to go very far. Take barry, he's back out on loan, at his age rooney was playing 1st team every week. My question is is suppose are these players really as good as we/they think they are.

Just seen he's been left at home and will not be part of the tour of Australia, Gerrard confirmed it's down to not signing a contract - 100% in support of this, the club can't get held to ransom by our academy players, he's clearly a talent but if he's not interested in committing to Villa long term and learning from one of the best Midfielders England has ever produced then don't let the door but you on the way out!

SV, not all our youngsters will make the grade but we have a conveyor belt of talent coming through the academy now and a clear path to the first team - I'm not remotely concerned if they need a loan or two, even the most expensive English player of all time required minutes elsewhere to develope :-) The aim needs to be minutes for these players and if they aren't going to get them at Villa they need a loan to continue their development. There'll always be examples like Rooney who was ready for the men's game at 16 and could make an impact in the PL instantly, but they are freaks, especially in the modern game. I'd be looking more at Harry Kane, he had 6 or 7 loan spells and he's not half bad now - It's not an exact science, I trust the club and the process, we are in a really good place long term.
