Not to keep harking back on last night's VAR decision, however i overheard a sensible debate regarding Ramsey's role in the play. Why was he standing way offside and made no attempt to retreat yo get back onside as the ball was about to be kicked, unlike Ings and Watkins. This was obviously a tactical decision and one conclusion is to act as a blocker to stop players getting to the ball at the far post. This is exactly what happened. I bet we don't see him doing it again on Saturday. Cavarni made no attempt to get round Ramsey i agree, however Ramsey did nothing other than stand still (as a blocker). It was a harsh decision if for no other reason, that i can't recall a goal being chalked off by VAR before for this reason. It appears the decision was right according to the laws of the game but it definitely looked as though VAR was looking for reasons to disallow the goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scot, spot on with this. Cavani made a meal of it but fair play to him in doing what needs to be done in todays football. Had Ramsey moved to get back onside it would have been seen as an accidental collision but by just standing still he will be deemed to be deliberately blocking. Having said all that I bet there's not another one like this given this season.

It's like the goal that we lost to city last year when their player was a mile offside, var came up with a rule that nobody had seen happen before so they could let city have the advantage, same thing this time, players are doing this every week in the league and I've never seen a goal disallowed because of it, cavani was a great player but like most South American players his first instinct is to throw himself on the ground, make a meal out of things and basically cheat every chance he gets, these players have taken more from the league than they have given it in my opinion. the shaw/konsa incident annoys me every bit as much, Fernández can stand on konsa and get a penalty but shaw can smack konsa in the face, bloody his nose and var have no interest, corruption and cheating are ruining the English game.

Bang on whack and SV. On a separate note it will be interesting to see if Coutinho and Digne start on Saturday, i think stevie G will play it safe and bring both of them on in the second half, what do you guys think.

Probably right scot, sanson maybe coming in for maginn, that said Steve might have to come up with something different as united nullified us a bit when they changed to a diamond but it also coincided with our players getting tired after such intensity for 70 odd mins, will be interesting to see how we shape up at the start, games like this is where we should see how good SG is as a tactician, he's had a practice run now let's see if he can tweak it and get the better of these cheats

I think Sanson will start in place of Mcginn but we may see coutino start in place of ings/watkins. Targett will probably keep his place
