If his report is accurate John, it would also appear that Tammy isn’t a target, and that he will assess Wesley and Davis during pre-season before making a decision on whether another striker is needed. From what we’ve witnessed recently, it shouldn’t be too long before Barry and Young are promoted to the first team ranks, so perhaps a big investment isn’t needed for a striker.
Another point there, is that Traoré is very capable of playing a more central attacking role also. Arguably he was more effective for Lyon playing centrally than he was on the wing.
As for looking closely at Ligue1 players, there are always excellent young talented players emerging, so that will be very interesting.

If Preece is right Mark then the maximum number of players coming in will be 4, then I think we can make some assumptions, firstly Guilbert will be replacing Elmo as understudy to Cash at right back. Taylor will need replacing to provide Targett with competition as none of the noises coming out of the club suggests that any of the kids are ready just yet. Chasing two wide guys as all the rumours suggests to me that we will only be bringing in one more player and it looks like a choice between a centre forward or a centre back.

It was suggested somewhere that Guilbert can play left back as well as right back. If that is a workable option then maybe Hayden and Guilbert could provide the necessary cover between them.
I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of them bringing in a solid defensive midfielder either John.

I hope so Mark because personally I would rather we get one wide man and a defensive midfielder rather than two wide and to be honest I would rather spend big in that position because I think that was where some teams found us out and played through us.

Yes I agree with that John.
Luiz has his strengths but for me he’s not a DM, the same goes for McGinn and Sanson. As for Nakamba, yes on occasions he has performed well in that position, but can he do it consistently, week in week out? I’m not sold on that, the jury is still out.
