Any of those who watched Fulham last night would have witnessed an excellent performance. Every player was comfortable on the ball, playing comfortably from the back coping easily with the press. Every player had a pass option when pressed n rarely gave thd ball away because of this. Many of the players are not household names just young honest pros that have been coached to do a job. I raise this because it is something we are lacking at the moment and it says to me that coaching methods are absolutely paramount irrespective of anything else.

League position is paramount.

I’m with scotty if we get the coaching right then performances and results will take care of themselves.

8th in the league and the coaching isn’t right🤔.

What i have witnessed over the last four games tells me there is an issue, the performances highlight this.

There is something not quite right when we score seven against the champions and then concede four against Southampton and three against Leeds and played off the park by West Ham all at Villa Park.

I'm with Chris on this one. Are we seriously saying a team that is fighting relegation is what we should aspire to on a coaching level?
Dean Smith has worked wonders and confusing short term form with overall progress seems a bit short sighted.

Just to make it 100% clear, are you saying our coaching isn’t right, but Fulham’s is?

15 Feb 2021 14:26:38
What I am saying, is that on Sunday Fulhams players were coached to play a certain way to negate Everton and completely out play them. Nothing to do with league position or partisen allegiance. In any walk of life if something was working and circumstances change and things aren't quite as good then modifications or adaptations may be required, if people don't understand that, so be it.

Fulham have always been a good passing side, but it hasn’t got them very far has it. They knocked it around quite well when we played them early in the season, but it didn’t stop us beating them 3-0 though.
We are going through a bad patch, but the good thing is even though we’re not playing that well at the moment, we are picking up points.
I don’t think playing 2 luxury players in Traoré and Barkley is helping our cause in my opinion. When we’re up against it, we can’t afford 2 players who aren’t going to graft. A bit more rotation in the midfield area generally is what I think we need. Nakamba, Sanson and Ramsey are all capable of doing a good job for us and I really do feel that we should be making more use of them.

I don’t follow Fulham closely enough to pass judgement on there coaching but the inconsistency in our performances over the last few weeks suggests to me something isn’t quite right, don’t get me wrong as a club over the last 18 months has got far more decisions right than not both on and off the pitch, and we are progressing quite nicely, sitting 8th is great progress given where we finished last season but if we are to step up to the next level then we have to remove these inconsistencies in performance.

Shame they can’t be coached to beat Villa, Leicester, West Brom, Brighton, Man U, Chelsea, Southampton, Newcastle, Liverpool, Many City, West Ham, Palace, Brentford or Wolves.

But aye, they played well against Everton, wonderful passing side, they’ve cracked it.

Mark agreed, however their performances have improved, I certainly don't think the way we are currently playing and the way Fulham have improved the result would be to the same now. My whole point, which seems to be missed by some. I want us to do well, I want us to climb the table, I want us to excite us, I just think that we won't achieve any of the above with changes in what ever form that takes. You can't stand still in football, things change by the week and I don't think we are adapting quick enough. Burnley adapted, Fulham have adapted, Liverpool, Spurs, Palace Sheffield, Wolves haven't and it shows.

I think our coaching is fine to be fair, we performed perfectly well up until, and including the Newcastle game, so for me its players.
Since then 3,4, and sometimes 5 players have really under performed, and the sad thing about it is they look uninterested.
The fact of the matter is, are we the only ones who are seeing this, because the management are not indicating that they are.

I will forget Barkley for now, take McGinn, he is a shadow of the player he was, gives the ball away, creates very little, tackles miss timed, and his shot and goal ratio is poor.
Drop him, make him realise he has to earn his shirt, come on Deano.
We were talking 50 mil for him 6 months ago, how much now!

I think what you're all trying to say is that after a few lacklustre performances and Jack being negated is that squad rotation and in game management could be improved? 🤔.

15 Feb 2021 19:54:31
Everton and Spurs played 120 mins Thursday night I think that had more to do with how Everton were so bad, yeh Fulham played well but Everton had no striker for most of it and they looked very tired as did Spurs. moose I agree with that last statement, rotation and in game tactics are what needs attention imo.
