Oh dear, a bad performance and a loss and it's all falling apart. We are a precious bunch aren't we😂 so far:

"Should of signed another top striker" - yep, make it 15m minimum spent on a new striker every season for the past 6 seasons. What's the Einstein quote "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. ".
As a club and team we have grown so much in the last two years, credit to the manager, rest of the playing/ management staff and the owners. Last night highlights the fact that the fans haven't grown with the club at all. We still have a large amount of the precious bunch, very reactionary and child like. If we want to progress we have to change attitude, we have the best ownership, management and playing staff, yet some seem determined to destroy it after every loss.
Always remember, as Wilder said last year, there's a reason some give their knowledge out for free, to anyone who will listen, and others get paid millions for it. - he did mention a pub in his original quote but they seem a distant memory😂 Al
Although WTW did once tell us he was a first team coach at Walsall, miss that fella😂😂😂.

I know Chris it's crazy mate we're 9th 6 points off 5th with a couple of games in hand, I for one like are style of play and I must admit Dean Smith has won me over last 2 seasons he's a good manager and is only going to get better along with the team, also 1 last point I don't think we should sign barkley do you.

4eva on last nights performance Barkley is a definite no from me. We will have our ups and downs this season but we’re in a better place than last year. To me the only ones who came out with any praise was targett and Watkins.

Watkins is class, and targett quality player has improved loads, atleast were not in a relegation fight its nice being in top half for a change we can look up for once, if we finish 10th that's good, then nxt season try finish 8th it's about taking baby steps.

WE still fail to cover ourselves.
School boy football, everybody get forward.
Oops we've lost the ball and there is no one home to lock the door.
If you play counter attack you still have to close the door firmly.
If the opposition play counter attack you must not only close the door you must keep it closed.
It looks like our keeper had a night off after a lot of good games and hopefully that's it.
Poor night, weak defence, again!

This is what I mean Oldvillan, you have summed the section of fans I was referring to in that post. You say things like “we still fail†and “weak defence, again†like say we’ve been doing it all season. Look at where we are, look at the results we have got this season, look at the contrast to last season, there is no context within your comments, just reactionary mindset after a poor performance. It’s childish and a hinderance to our progress. It breeds negativity.
4eva, cheers mate. As to the question, I wouldn’t sign Barkley unless there was a decent deal to be had. He is premier league quality no doubt, however much he is hit and miss. But we can’t rely on hit and miss, so unless they were desperate to sell and it was say 15 million, then no I probably wouldn’t. This is of course after half a season of which he missed the majority with injury. Plenty of football left to play - a scary thought after the reaction last night, won’t be long before the “smiths a championship manager†or “it’s only because of Shakespeare we are where we are†shouts are coming out.
