He's done well for us. Good luck to him.

58 goal involvements in 124 championship games I think, he was exactly the type or character and pro we needed after we suffered absolute wa***rs for so long!

Yes he did a great job for Villa and it’s a testament to his character that he’d prefer to play over sitting on the bench, unlike other certain individuals at the club who are quite content to keeping taking a wage for doing f##k all.
Good luck Conor, you deserve every success that comes your way.

Cannot express my gratitude to Conor, he gave us 110%.
I felt that he was an outstanding player for us in the champs and then the Prem.
It is no wonder that the Barnsley crowd claimed "its like watching Brazil. "
Good luck to you sir. You served us well.

Well done Conor and thank you, great servant and will miss your left peg.

A big thanks to Hourihane for all he's given this club and some memorable moments, goals, assists and decking the blue nose who assaulted Jack spring to mind.
Unfortunately we've moved up a level now, but fair play for him wanting to play regularly and not just getting splinters on the bench. 👏👏👏
With regards to the, hopefully, impending arrival of Sanson I'll say I believe this is the club showing its intent and not as a replacement for Luiz.
He's a regular starter, playing well in an ambitious side, and becoming part of the Brazilian set up, all whilst playing for the Villa. I'm pretty sure an improved contract will be discussed, if not already.
Even if City do come calling I believe the final say will be down to Dougie himself and if we're showing ambition and he's enjoying his football it may be enough to convince him that Villa is the place to be.

I don’t think Dougie has a choice to be honest, he signed a contract knowing that clause was in it. So if Many City activate said clause he has to act accordingly.

He must have a choice, surely? Otherwise what are his personal terms? He could just demand a kings ransom, or Man City already have him tied to a low wage, and he has to sit around refusing to play? Common sense would prevail I think.

20 Jan 2021 13:18:11
If that was the case there would never be any buy back clauses. He signed it, he has to stick buy it, unfortunately.
