If someone said two and a half years ago that we would have fully fledged Argentinian, Brazilian and English internationals in our squad, no one would have believed it. Easy to forget just how far we've come in such a short space of time.

We have come a long way Chris but Martinez has only played for Argentina’s U20 team I believe.
We do also have a fully fledged Scottish and 2 fully fledged Egyptian internationals though.

Plus Martinez is just waiting for his shot, been in the Argentina squads for a while!

Whoever is ahead of Martinez must be out of this world.
If he was English, I think he’s as good anybody we currently have and probably would have been capped by now.
As far as potential England players currently at Villa, I think Cash, Konsa and Watkins would be on that list.

Agreed Mark, I think we are blessed with a few very good players right now.
I was really happy when we secured Martinez, the guy is superb, and I think he is going to be a real success with us.

I must confess I wasn’t convinced we needed to shell out circa £20 million on a keeper but he has been an absolute star not only as a shot stopper but also how he commands his area and his distribution has been first class whether from hand or foot long may it continue.
