This so called "Project Big Picture " should be called "Through The Keyhole " as that's what any team outside the Sky 6 will be doing. Peering at the Lords high table during a banquet of profound opulence. It's tantamount to a military coup in some backwater country where a small percentage want all the power and riches that come with it. Football as we all remember it is slowly dying, and as someone has posted a photo of a banner reading " Football without fans is £14.99 a month ".

Funny that Man Utd and Liverpool are making these noises after they’ve just been duffed 6-1 and 7-2 respectively.
When big empires are threatened or embarrassed / humiliated they often feel the need to throw their weight around in an attempt to put pretenders to the throne back in their place.
They would have us believe that this project has been in the pipeline for a while but the timing of its announcement is a tad suspicious . Coincidence, or is there a connection?

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with their recent results. It has been in the works since the start of the year.}

Ed, is this something the Premier League, Man Utd and Liverpool have decided, end of. Or have the rest of the Premier League teams had a say, or will get to have a say.
Will there be a vote for instance?
Also, when are these proposals likely to be implemented?
I would also be interested to know what you views on this project are.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is nothing to do with the Premier League. Nothing has been discussed or agreed. It is simply a proposal - nothing more.}

Ok Ed, thanks.

Ed Iv seen report on Sky that this, besides power driven, it’s also money driven . The report stated that if they can get their way, part of it will involve them being in control of their games world wide . They can televise 6-8 of their games World wide and they receive all revenue. This will not give extra money, to lower leagues and could also eventually be increased to more games . If this is true, only those involved will gain, from it . The top 6 want to stay there .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

{Ed002's Note - It is unrelated to the top six clubs - the concession to try and get (nine) clubs to agree is the ludicrous proposal about voting. This has only been discussed with anyone other than the owners of Manchester United and the head of the EFL. I don't know what Sky have said, but it is indeed about money. To try and summarise. Stephen Ross of the Miami Dolphins, has on several occasions requested a meeting with an extant group of 21 European sides who have formed a group to discuss issues across the continent and have been considering the pan-European breakaway. They have no interest in such a discussion but having identified the source of much of the funding (and that raising a concern) will wish to discuss it between themselves again - but they are not thinking about it at this time. This has dragged on for four years and nothing has happened - and I doubt it will. However, Ross with the help of Liverpool owners FSG organised a meeting of a number of clubs in Paris during January 2020 including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, PSG, Atletico, Manchester United, Juventus, Liverpool in order to discuss expanding the pre-season International Champions Cup to a much larger event where clubs would be members of the tournament through a debenture type system but need to commit to playing their first team in all games. Ajax, Chelsea, both Milan sides, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, Marseille, Real Madrid and Spurs refused invitations to attend. Ross wants UEFA to formally recognise the tournament (there has been a discussion already) which would be a money spinner but will add many more first team games to the annual schedule. This is one driver that has led to the proposal arising commissioned report that the Liverpool owners had written by a third party in order to ensure certain income is allocated on the basis of more for the more successful sides and proposes reducing the size of the league to 18 (aligning with what UEFA and FIFA would like), scratching the League Cup and the Charity Shield. This is the larger plan for Liverpool to initially host International Champion Cup pre-season tournament run every year that would require clubs to commit playing full first team squads and bring in much needed income for them. This clashes with the views of FIFA and UEFA. The reduction is the size of the league makes some sense but will be difficult for the Premier League to pass. Eventually the clubs will look to self-distribution of a number of games that could collapse the broadcaster deal and that would likely, in a few years, collapse the whole football pyramid in England and cut off money going to the EFL entirely (this is likely what Sky were referring to). The FA are looking at tweaking Home Grown and Club Developed rules which could hit one or two clubs hard - not least Liverpool. This all comes from the growth potential of Liverpool FC as a business now flattening out – the owners would like to find a way to squeeze more out – and that is the reason that they have the support of Manchester United. It is one of a number of proposals kicking around - they come and go.}

The Premier league appears to be against these proposals, as does the culture secretary Oliver Dowden, so hopefully it won’t see the light of day.
