It's nice to see some on here waxing lyrical about how deano has grown into the job and how progress is more than we could have expected, how we will grow from strength to strength and that lock down seems to have been the watershed for his transformation, and in an ideal world maybe, but what if teams decide to mark grealish out of the game, and watkins too, even worse, what if those 2 get injures, who steps in?

we should be buying another 'proven' striker, and strengthening at the back, Craig Dawson is available for 4 million as an example, why aren't we making a move for the likes of him, as for the team playing better,

I would say that our assistant manager Craig Shakespeare deserves the lions share of plaudits for that, yes we're up there and long may it continue, but don't get carried away boys and girls, all it takes is for 1 or 2 injuries to key players and the creativity may go missing, then we'll see if the boys have the heart for battle,

I hope they do, but we need a leader in that team, older, wiser and a nasty piece of work to cope with the other side of the game when teams come and play a more physical type of game, is deano wise enough to realise this? time will tell.

What if? What if? What if?

What if the owners go bankrupt we should be having backing owners just incase

What if the ground collapses and we have no where to play

What if WW3 starts and Mings is recruited

What if Watkins grows wings and decides he wants to be a unicorn

All problems that need to be solved aswell aye C82?

Get Craig Dawson in and pump it into row Z am I right? Such a phenomenal leader, he’d never be in a relegated side, oh wait a minute.

Araldite as usual Chris! -I'm glad your 200% behind deano, but what ifs are part of life fella, we signed watkins and quite a few on here were saying it shows deano is the type of manager who can attract top talent and this will continue, WHAT IF I told you Chris watkins was more than keen to have joined the spuds before us BUT the deal fell through because of levy refusing to pay 28 million, that's what makes it all exciting, as for Dawson, how many times have we been guilty of fannying about in defense in the past and present when sending it into row z was the simple solution, and again you overlook that the simplest solutions are normally the best, and what about leadership, tenacity and direction he'd bring to the party for approx? 4 million? -a choice of hause or Dawson, mm mm, theirs a puzzler, he's just 1 example I gave, others are out there available,

and finally I know in football you don't always get your first choice player you wanted, but there are some on here who believed watkins was nailed on for joining us because of his history with deano, and at the time we all wondered why it was taking so long and we blamed Brentford, turns out it took so long because his agent was talking to spurs, they wanted to join and the only thing that stopped it was the cost of the deal, not anything to do with watkins wanting to team up with deano again, that does that bother me, no, mercenaries springs to mind, but there you go, so fair play for your passionate support of deano, that's a good thing, I'm just looking at the other side of the coin, because like it or not, that's what makes a coin a coin! (pretty deep eh! -lol! )

“ WHAT IF I told you Chris watkins was more than keen to have joined the spuds before us BUT the deal fell through because of levy refusing to pay 28 million” - then I’d say prove it, you wouldn’t be able to, anddd we’d be back at square uno.

I have to agree with Chris on this 1, there wasn’t a whisper about spurs and Watkins until he scored a hatrick v Liverpool now all of a sudden spurs were going to sign him not in a million years would levy pay over 15 mil for a championship player let alone 30, to make a statement like “the deal fell through” means there had to be a deal in the first place and if any kind of deal was anywhere near close it would of being in the press like every other deal involving a top 6 club, the truth may be closer to something like they made an enquiry and not interested once they got quoted the price, like how many other players have clubs enquired about over the coarse of any transfer window, dozens!

Actually Chris Daniel levy was asked about the watkins deal and he said all good on watkins wanting to join but he would not pay the 28 million Brentford wanted, so he walked away from the deal, now say what you like about Daniel levy but I don't think he'd make that up, and there have been no comments on lack of accuracy from any parties involved, so that convinces me.
