If the reports are to be believed then Rashicas's reluctance to join us is becoming infectious as Edouard is apparently waiting for better offers. I hope we don't keep pushing this, if the player is clear that his ambitions lie elsewhere we should move on to other targets.

I think it's obvious who our key targets are and these types of players will need to be sold on the project sadly. We can't offer European football and we are unlikely to be challenging for major honours any time soon so their reluctance is understandable. I wouldn't be overly offended with players being uncertain about joining Villa, at this moment we are not particularly appealing but we will be eventually and we need to sell them on that project.

I agree BK but that being the case we should make an approach try to sell them the club and the project but if the noises coming from the player are still negative then we move on. There is no point flogging a dead horse as we seem to be doing with Rashica.

Replying to Akavilla. I’ve seen that story has been recycled. He never said he’d only come back to Burnley, he just said he’d like to finish his career there, that’s the club that’s in his heart. I cannot think how on earth we persuade a first-choice player at a massive champions league side to join us, but boy would it be a statement of intent!

The way I see it with Trippier is that from an England point of view, there’s no shortage of class right backs, for him to stand out from the crowd he’s going to have to be a star player, a 7 or higher every week, if he came to Villa he’d have the opportunity to do that 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸
