As supporters, we help fund our club, and we are the very foundation of the club, without us Villa would not exist, that is a fact.
Now that everything has settled down, and we have achieved our aim I think two things need addressing immediately, enabling us to stabilise the club, and set our new plan, and targets in motion.
1: The Owners should make it crystal clear to the supporters, exactly what the situation is concerning Jack Grealish, is he going or not, and sort it out.
2: We also need to know are we going to stay loyal, and reward Deano with a vote of confidence, and give him the tools and freedom the man needs to implement his vision.
What happens in the next 10 weeks is monumental in our future.
Forget the cloak and dagger stuff.
If we are all in it together, let us have some transparency please.

Well said Guvnor 👍.

Dave, absolutely with you on point 2 but with regards to the position re Jack I don’t think the board are going to make it clear, they would rather the player did that, as if they are seen to be sanctioning the sale of our best player it smacks of lack of ambition. To be honest I would rather Jack came out and said what he wanted to do, given what he has done for the club he could have pushed to go when we were relegated or when we didn’t get up at the first attempt but he didn’t I for one would not hold it against him if he said that he wanted to go to further his career. I just wish it isn’t to United if he goes.

That`s my point John, and I can see what you are trying to say mate.
But to be fair it is very easily solved, we are talking about a footballer here, not a decision about a nuclear strike.
All they have to do in this instance is to inform us that Jack Grealish will be making a statement with regards to his position at Aston Villa football club.
I am sorry John I have no sympathy with him or any other players, he knows exactly what he wants to do, all I want is for the club/ Jack to clarify the stance, and let us know.
I would imagine everyone at Villa park know what the situation is, except the tea lady of course.

28 Jul 2020 20:19:06
Fair play Dave I absolutely get your desire for clarity and I am very much a black and white person myself, but I don’t believe we will get it either from the board or the player, but I do like the nuclear strike analogy but I wouldn’t be sure the tea lady doesn’t know what’s going on in my experience they tend to be the first to know 🤣.

28 Jul 2020 20:39:32
Are you a minstrel then John 😂😂
And no, I don`t think we will get any answers mate.

28 Jul 2020 20:50:14
Doris the tea lady does know what he wants, milky tea 2 sugars and a jammie wagon wheel 😁.

If they say go before any bids then his price drops. If they say stay and he goes then we're back to Delph and Downing snake territory. They have nothing to gain by saying anything.
The position has already been touted that a big enough offer will be considered but he will stay if not forthcoming.
We all want to know where we are with it and would prefer it in stone sooner rather than later but we can't expect the club to show their hand when tens of millions could be at stake.

28 Jul 2020 21:23:43
A very in depth analogy that, when in reality it could all be clarified by the club or the man himself in a couple of sentences.
Money gets in the way of common sense again.

29 Jul 2020 06:28:25
How can they possibly say he's going if they haven't received a required bid? He was 100% going to Spurs before apart from the fact they completely lowballed us.
Like all players that are not transfer listed there is a dream number and a bottom line that need to be discussed.
Not sure how you think money is overtaking common sense? This is a business transaction and is 99% about the money involved. Clubs don't nurture players for the benefit of winning other clubs trophies, there should be a substantial return on investment.

29 Jul 2020 08:17:54
I agree up to a point so absolutely there is a dream figure and a bottom line but if a team comes in with a dream figure on transfer deadline day and we don’t have a ready made replacement signed sealed and delivered then the buying club should be told to take a hike but in reality would they? That’s when money rules over common sense.

Also l am not sure how much money it would cost the club if they were to come out and say Jack is available the reality is all the interested clubs will know already as his agent will have been touting him behind the scenes so all the fans want is a degree of clarity which maybe we are going to get now we have apparently said our dream figure is £80 million.

29 Jul 2020 09:52:26
That's my point John. The position has been made clear. £70-80mill is what it would take to consider and then up to Jack if he goes.
I imagine if the interest is firm enough that the club would ensure there is a back up in place early enough. Maybe not a massive money one but someone like cantwell could be expected.

29 Jul 2020 10:31:21
If he is intending to go it will be interesting to see who we move for in the next couple of weeks if we are going for creative central midfielders then that will suggest he is on his way. If he is going and we are shopping for established premiership players then it’s David Brooks for me or. given Chelsea’s moves for midfielders I might try a cheeky bid to see if Ross Barkley is available.

29 Jul 2020 12:55:22
Ward prowse, Cantwell, Brooks, oneil. i would buy these, great prem players, add to luiz, what a great midfield, if jack stays better still, all young.

29 Jul 2020 14:50:27
Trust me rk, having run my own business for 12 years, been my son in laws Bookkeeper for 10 years, I know for a fact that money does get in the way of common sense.
Doug Ellis for all his loyalty, was a great example of the point I am trying to make.

With regards to the jack debate one question we should ask ourselves is this. And this without deflecting my admiration for him. Would we better off without him. We keep relying on him dragging the team with him. Would we be better off with a different sort of player or two who give us other options. Luiz I feel is going to be a major player for us, Mcginn is getting better each game, so do we need a couple of other different types of player to change our direction in how we play. I would love to see jack stay but I think we need to get our focus elsewhere. If Jack has a bad game then we need other options to take over which we don't currently have. he deserves European football and I would love that to be with Villa, but i'm a realist and that ain't going to happen soon enough for him. If he goes he goes with my blessing, If he stays I hope that we can unload the burden.

29 Jul 2020 15:47:18
I think we would be better off SV, and we should sell ASAP.
Granted its only my opinion, but I have said it before a couple of times, I think we could become a better side without him.
Again Liverpool the example, selling Philippe Coutinho.

29 Jul 2020 19:10:00
only a fool would want to sell there best player, liverpool had great players, we don't fact.

29 Jul 2020 21:00:45
I stand corrected, I am a fool then.
