Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone Dean Smith out, would be good to hear your realistic shouts for who you would want to replace him, and why.

Chris Hughton.

Hoddle / Sherwood or MON / Keane.

Good shouts lads, but reasons why? Play style, transfer success, arse kicker, history of promotion etc?

Depends on which division we are in Chris - I think we should be ambitious regardless but if we are in the Premiership them maybe Erik ten Hag from Ajax? If we go down then a sensible appointment might be Sean Dyche - Queue "they will never come to Villa" in the responses :-)

{Ed002's Note - ten Hag will certainly not be moving to Aston Villa.}

Hoddle/ Sherwood. Hoddle is an astute football brain which partnered by Sherwoods enthusiasm would be a good fit. MON/ Keane, I'm prepared to give MON a bit of leeway. I cannot forgive him for walking the way he did but in hindsight the chaos behind the scenes may have been a big reason. Keane would add some steel we desperately need and I think he gets some very unfair criticism at times. They worked well at Ireland and nobody has made us punch above our weight as MON did.

Hence the "ambitious" comment Ed :-) I'd like the owners to at least demonstrate that they want to push the club on - Who would you suggest? Let's be honest, it's highly likely (bar a miracle) that we will be looking at a Championship manager for next season which rightly rules out a vast number of managers.

{Ed002's Note - Chris Hughton.}

Hoddle and terry, i rate hoddle, great player great manager, look for comments alan and shearer, and others he has manger,

Do we think Hoddle would get back into management after his heart attack? I could see the stress of managing us leading to another Houllier situation.
Also, he's been good before and rates youth but some of his commentary concerns me. Regularly hear him question why someone didn't play a pass that wasn't on or expects a striker to suddenly have a growth spurt to get onto a cross.

Steven Gerrard

Doing a good job at rangers, would command respect and take no s. t from the players.
Could also use his Liverpool connections to get some loan players.
