Let's react to the match rather than the result.
We should have smashed them tonight. How can you blame the manager for that finishing when we dominated from start to finish?
Not a fan of Luiz but he seems a different player, even tried some forward balls today.
Hause has to go. Savage was having a go at Mings but why was our right centre back on the left for that throw?
Konsa did a decent job and would have made more sense for him to move to the middle and take Hause off.
It was good to at least see all the players sweating for it, especially at half time, just frustrating that we really could have done with the 3 points.

Played well tonight unfortunately that’s as good as we are. Some of these players might go on to have half descent careers in prem but at this time not good enough.

I think we can blame the manager for being reactive rather than proactive RK - We had to go behind before he went 2 up top! We are running out of games and Smith looks totally devoid of ideas mate, he's just not at this level and that showed tonight - Change of personal yes but same formation, again!

We created more chances before we had both up top so that is hilariously ridiculous.
He changed things up bringing in Trez and moving Jack central which worked to an extent but as usual Trez has less end product than the much maligned Shaun Wright phillips.

Same formation, different personal does not a change in tactics make RK - My personal opinion is and has been he is out of his depth at this level! Sadly we are at a point now where a change can't be made so we just need to ride the storm out and reassess at the end of the season.

I think we need to look at the bigger picture RK - I take your point, we created chances in the first half against a Newcastle team that looked like they were on the beach! Look how our game developed and improved when Smith made the changes, brought on Elmo and Hourihane and peppered their box, if it happened sooner or dare I say from the start we would have won.
Its all well and good pointing out stats but the sad reality is we were 1-0 down before Smith made those changes and looked like conceding another. He reacted, and deserves credit, but why does it take us going behind? Why can't he be proactive? That's my major issue with Smith!

But we peppered their goal beforehand and poor finishing cost us.
I'm of the opinion that Elmo at right back and Konsa in place of Hause we don't concede that goal and win the game.
