Hi first time poster long time reader. I won't go into villa's woes at the moment, as they've been pretty well covered by other posters, but watching the Man Utd game behind closed doors (for obvious reasons) makes you realise that football without the fans is nothing and maybe if the handsomely paid players finally realised this, and how lucky and privileged they are, they may just put in that little extra bit of effort in appreciation of the support they receive and how lucky they are. UTV.

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome Moose, good to have you on board mate.
What a great point that is, I am with you all the way on that.
Its a dam shame it should take something like this to make them realise.

Thanks for the welcome Villadave good to be on board mate. I'd like to say my opinion is football is basically a simple game over complicated by people trying to be clever and with the success of Klopp and Pep people are trying to copy but if you don't have the players available keep it simple and basic. I played Sunday league football til is wad 40 before having to give up due to injury I then went into management and despite building a team from scratch, 2 years later we had won our division by January, a cannock chase league record. This was achieved by hard work and training sessions where after a warm up and stretch it was all work with the ball so it became a friend and not the enemy, pass and move creating small triangles. I know professional football is a million miles away but the basic principles are the same always be on the move and look to create angles, that and a ton of effort which should be the minimum requirement at any level UTV.

Moose, my sentiments exactly mate.
I have quoted on here many times, a quote by the late great Bill Shankly.
"Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple".
