Villadaz, I agree near us one pathetic prat started having a go at who he thought were city fans in a club wembley area. Found out one was west ham the other millwall but were there on corperate day to watch a game of footie.

Boils my urine SV if us as fans can't get the basics right like supporting our club what hope have the players got playing for our club and putting a shift in. As I said it's the minority who are coked up off their brains and drunk. I have seen videos of so called Villa fans ripping up plants and tantalising property. On the game itself We played Ok not good but not bad defending too deep for me and Deanos comment at the end baffled me saying and I quote"Play like that and well be ok"We couldn't get the ball off them for long parts of the game so what hope do we have? And as for Jack ain't big players supposed to turn up for the big games? Just my observation.

And a good observation it is Daz, I thought the same mate.
Jack was poor in my opinion, and could not work out where he was more effective.
Again as you say, everyone including Jack, were sitting far too deep.
When we played higher, the last 15 minutes we made them think a bit.

Very true daz lad, I don’t know why he comes so deep to collect the ball I think it’s because he wants everything to be through him.

villadave you hit the nail on the head with drink and drugs crap. definitely defended too deep and too narrow. Stirling and Foden stuck to the white lines while guilbert and target stayed inside nad left them free all day long.

Cheers Dave and Tom. What I don't get is why we don't play with that intensity for 90 mins not when we are chasing games? As both of you have pointed out Jack wants everything to go through him now don't get me wrong wanting the ball is not a bad thing but not all the time. The Scottish Messi will be a big bonus when he comes back but will take 2-3 games to get back to any sort of match fitness and games are running out if Jack had anything about him he will know it's a team game.

The posts in this thread are more accurate than most of the positive hype which like Daz i disagree with. Yes Deano needs to lift the players with positive comments, however deep down we all know many of the team just aren't good enough. My problem is we are far to easy to play against. Our out ball is from keeper over the top to the wings, yesterday was to Freddie or Elmo, We won very few of these. Our main threat came from high balls following fouls when our defenders are pushed forward. This hoof ball is outdated and apart from needing a goal in the final minutes has pretty much disappeared at the top level, most championship sides have also changed this approach. If and it's a doubtful if, we stay up we need players that are comfortable on the ball and can pass under pressure and to someone in the same colour shirt. We go again next Monday at Leicester who have dipped in form, we need the same performances as the cup games against them. On a positive note I was in the Novotel ( villa stayed there Saturday night) with my grandson having a beer when John McGinn was having selfies with fans, one fan asked him if he is fit enough to play yet, his exact words were as soon as the boss picks me I am fit and ready, I hope this is the case it will be like getting a new 50 million signing.

Villadave, Maybe because we don't look through the rose tinted glasses some do. Having played at a half decent leveli think I can spot the obvious.
