There is an official club statement Dave, I’ve just read it.
For me the most important paragraph is and I’m quoting word for word here;
Aston Villa can confirm that in the 3- year period ending May 31, 2019, the club complied with the EFL’s profitability and sustainability rules.
After promotion, the Premier league reviewed and confirmed compliance in accordance with their own policies and procedures.

Mark, I always think of of the cliche" rules are for the guidance of wise men and the adherence of fools". I think this sums up FFP, yes guide lines are important along with fairness, however in any walk of life money enables you to have far more control on outcomes. I don't dismiss FFP however, unless teams are able to spend no one can ever get near Liverpool, Man United or Man City, I see that as far more damaging than enabling teams to use wealth if they have it, monopolies are far more dangerous than a few millions over spent.
