Whats all this about Scotty,
"We should not be relying on on results of teams around us"
Probably not, but that is the very nature of football, Man City are saying the same as us, they are hoping Liverpool drop points.
If Liverpool or Man City did not drop points, apart from the goal diff what's the use.
Do you honestly think Watford, West Ham, Norwich are not hoping and depending on us dropping points.
Think about it mate.

Every one does it, it's probably only chance we got of staying up if westham don't win another game, 🤣🤣🤣 it's not like we're going to win a game anytime soon.

Totally missing the point Dave, you win the premier league and avoid relegation by winning games, not relying on others. You mention man city Liverpool, last year Liverpool missed out hardly losing any games. So this year they made sure that they didn't have to rely on man city losing by uping their game, my whole point is we should be doing the same.

Yes but Scotty, you don’t honestly think we’re going to win our 12 remaining games do you. If we won 10 of them for example, which would be a miracle, we would still have to hope the teams around us win less games. So even in that situation we would have to rely on others.

25 Feb 2020 18:21:19
Admittedly of course I know we would stay up if we won 10 games we would finish on 55 points. It was an exaggerated example I know but if slightly more realistically, we won 6 of those games that would give us 43 points. We would have a good chance of staying up with that but it wouldn’t be guaranteed. In that situation we would have to rely on the teams around us not doing as well as that.

25 Feb 2020 18:39:26
Of coarse we should be uping our game, hopefully that will come.
But sorry mate, not missing any point at all.
I know exactly what you are saying, problem being that only happens to 1 or 2 teams a year.
The rest are relying on the results of other teams as well as their own.
You, me, or anyone else for that matter, look to see if the teams above and below you have lost.
I did it in 1981, when we had a win, I was hoping Ipswich would lose, what person in their right mind would not want that.
That is not relying, its hoping results go in your favour.

And if anyone thinks we're going to win 5/ 6 games on the trot there are in lala land we can all sea what's going on . I don't care how we stay up really if by some other teams bad form then so be it, there's an old saying you get what you pay for, and that's why we are at the bottom.

In 1981 that was right down to the last game of the season, if my memory serves me well.
I was there at Highbury when we lost 2-0 to Arsenal.
So we needed Ipswich to lose. I can remember all the Villa supporters glued to their radios for updates on the Ipswich Middlesbrough game, we had all given up on the Arsenal game. Each time Middlesbrough scored there would be massive celebrations in the Villa end. Correct me if I’m wrong Dave but I think Middlesbrough eventually won 4-3,
and we were champions. What a day that was.

Scott my friend you are a truth speaker.

25 Feb 2020 19:48:37
Correct Mark, that sure was a great day mate, that is the fun and excitement of football.
You can win your last game of the season 4-0 but if the team next to you wins 5-0 you go down.
Its the nature of the game, and I would not change any of it.

We are all telling the truth Tom, but it has to correspond to reality for it to be truthful.

That's how sad it's got now thou the teams bad got no confidence, can't defend, doesn't score enough goals, can't keep clean sheets and lacks fight, passion, and to be honest they don't care apart from jck, like I said at start of transfer window when we came up we needed to buy proven prem quality players, cahil, wanyama, delph, mitrovic, clyne, sturridge, schulpp, philps, Rodriguez, Phil Jones, Danny rose, ings who was available at the time from lpool, and your telling me at start of window we couldn't get any of them players, all of them would walk into our team in my view and who ever idea it was not to sign proven prem players needs sacking, we gambled by signing championship players apart from Heaton who is a class gk, paying 25)30 mill for Ming's was a joke Cahill would of been a much better option don't know why fans love Ming's he not that good of defender at all makes 1000s of mistakes he' thinks he's Rio Ferdinand when he's not, we should of signed quality over quantity, we wasted 150 mil on crap apart from Heaton, and Engles maybe,

25 Feb 2020 20:38:18
It’s ironic isn’t it really that the best player we’ve bought over the last few seasons was the cheapest.
John McGinn.

25 Feb 2020 20:55:48
4eva, we all know what think, you keep saying the same thing over and over again.
It gets a bit tedious mate.

25 Feb 2020 21:18:24
Just stating Dave we have been poor in our transfer dealings mate that's all.

26 Feb 2020 17:51:53
Yes very poor young English talent is what we should have brought I wonder if the language barrier is a problem?
