At the end most fans around me just kept looking to the ground, no one was booing or saying anything about the manager, it was as though everyone was drained of emotion. That is a sign that the faithful have accepted our fate, relegation based on today is inevitable. Coaching is devoid of ideas, players that can't make simple passes, absolutely no goal threat, the shortcomings are endless. For the first time Jack finally looks as though he is done and who could blame him. Smith will not be the Aston Villa manager next season whatever the outcome of the rest of the season, he has had is chance so listen to 4eva get rid now. He clearly is out of his depth, of course the players haven't helped him, however most are his signings and he picks the team an chooses the style of play. I am not angry or surprised, what I am is drained watching the kind of football that doesn't deserve loyalty. Yes we go again on Sunday however I don't think I will be on my own to say they are not looking forward to it. We are fans at the moment with blind faith if we think this is anything other than abject failure with little hope for anything positive to complete our season. I wish Jack Ming's and McGinn all the best in the premier league next year, they are the only players that will be targets in the next transfer window and the only ones we could get decent money for. Most of the rest won't even be good enough in the championship. The pundits said we spent like Fulham and our fate would be the same, looks like they were right. Sad day all round.

There is time to save this season but we need to act. I love Smith for what he did last season, and let's be honest he has taken us to a final in a season where we have barely been in the bottom three. That being said, we look doomed currently and his comments after the game scream of a man who has lost the dressing room. Act now, and we can stay up, don't and it's the Champo again!

Scotty, after today`s game mate, I have to hold my hand up, and admit that I was probably loyal to a fault, in my support for Dean Smith.
It has become very apparent, that he is stuck in a belief that one style fits all.
Its a real shame, time is running out fast.

You weren't the only one Dave!

Dave that's the really sad part of today, you like many others are now in the majority and as football fans with knowledge it obvious that things have to change, in whatever form that takes.

No that`s true BK, I think we are a fast diminishing band of brothers now mate.

From what Purslow was saying at the Supporters Trust meeting on Tuesday, Deano is part of his and the owners long-term (5-6 year) plan for the club, hence the new contract. I would therefore be highly surprised if he is given the heave-ho anytime soon.

Yeah, I read that as well, hypocrites come in all shapes and sizes MD, it would not be the first time it has happened.
