Which ever division we're in next season, I hope the premiership, may I be so bold as to say we would not go wrong if we were to try and buy Ivan
Toney, striker from Peterborough, 24 y/ of, great attitude and record, good team player and humble toboot, tall, good in the air and on the deck, I know Bournemouth want him, and palace have shown interest, maybe harsh, but I think he's the striker we all wanted Davis or hepburn-murphy to be, so sentiment aside;sell those 2 and bring in the likes of Toney, we need strikers on the pitch, not the treatment table.

Agree0 Disagree0

82, that is exactly what people are arguing about on here.
Everybody is knocking Deano for buying untried players, people need to make their minds up.

19 Feb 2020 17:21:23
If we are in the prem it's a no for me me not good enough but championship who knows.

19 Feb 2020 17:30:29
If we are in the prem nxt year there's some great players we could get, / lalana, clyne, wanyama, mitrovic, philps westbrom, Aron's from norwhich, and Lewis aswell, Lewis dunk, also ben mee, van arn Holt, shulpp, also Philips from Leeds is a great defence mid would be a good signing for any prem team, also I'd make an offer for Rooney aswell as player coach if we are still in the prem he's only 33thats not old at all and still knows where the goal is.

{Ed002's Note - Using what for money?}

19 Feb 2020 18:02:26
All clubs get given a budget ed at end of the season, plus with sponsors all that and gate receipts and stuff, no club in the prem will stand still nxt summer every one will spend even the promoted clubs aswell.

{Ed002's Note - You have absolutely no idea.}

19 Feb 2020 18:04:06
Or ed the sale of grealish then 80/ 100 mil easy that what I'd sell him for and not a penny less.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think you get how clubs are run financially and the mess at Aston Villa.}

19 Feb 2020 18:09:10
And plus u get 150 mil for being in the prem each season.

{Ed002's Note - You really need to think about stuff you understand - who gives AV £150M for being in the Premier League each season?}

19 Feb 2020 18:13:09
So you reckon villa won't spend any cash then ed, even if we sell jck?

{Ed002's Note - That is not what I said}

19 Feb 2020 18:29:04
Well I've just looked at Google villa make 80mil a season u get 150 mill just for being in the prem, so that's 230 mil coming in the club your telling me the manager won't get atleast 50mil come on I'm not a chairmen but every club makes money in the prem, that's why it's the richest league in world, and even if we did spend we could spend by selling players.

{Ed002's Note - I have not said anything like that - clearly you don’t understand.}

19 Feb 2020 19:12:23
Villa4eva you can only spend within your means whatever money we get. Do you really think the TV money goes to buy players? Like I said yesterday we have been run badly in past years just because our owners have a bit of money dosnt mean they can spend willly nilly.

19 Feb 2020 18:38:42
I don't understand all the proper stuff no I'm not on the board, you just find things out like on Google, Google's always right haha.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure it is Eva.}

19 Feb 2020 18:47:34
Unfortunately Ed I think you are spot on I think our last set of accounts showed an operating loss of something like £32 million therefore before we engage in any spending spree we are Going to have to generate income not only for fees but wages also. Until Villadave posted the salaries we pay I thought we paid a bit more than was being quoted if we are going to radically overhaul the squad which if we stay in the prem I think we need to do to remain competitive then I fear we are going to have to well first and probably more than one of our stars.

{Ed002's Note - The losses were £57M - remarkably the same figure that Aston Villa sold Villa Park for (which they no longer own and will be renting). Obviously the other sides that have gone down the road of gambling their future on selling their primary asset (like Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday) and failure to make the financial targets that Aston Villa re nowhere near have cost Birmingham City 9 points and may cost them another 9 points.}

19 Feb 2020 19:00:28
Ok Ed, you are telling people they have no idea, and that they are wrong, what points are we missing on this issue.
Can you explain, if Villa are in trouble, why are they in trouble, and where does the club stand.
Finally what do you think their punishment will be?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over again - Aston Villa are a loss making busines and sold their primary asset (Villa Park) for £57M to try and hide the Championship losses last season. They started this season spending £140M (they don't have) net on players. It seems that all but one of the supporters don't have even the slightest understanding of the finances ("are owners are minted") or of the potential implications of making losses in terms of FFP nor (as the currently charged Derby and Sheffield Wednesday) the consequences of selling the stadium. Don't forget, Aston Villa no longer own Villa park and will now be renting it from a third party business owned by the owners of the club - a really, really nasty mismanaged situation to be in. The club are in trouble because of financial mismanagement.}

19 Feb 2020 20:18:03
So basically the villa are in the 💩.

{Ed002's Note - They need to sort it out.}

19 Feb 2020 20:20:45
Cheers ed and daz I get what your both saying the now didn't know it was that complicated 🙈🙈.

19 Feb 2020 20:28:44
We got there in end ed 🤣🤣🤣.

19 Feb 2020 20:37:46
Basically our landlords could knock Villa Park down and build houses on it if they wanted too although that is a bit dramatic it could happen.

{Ed002's Note - They could as they own the ground, but they won't as they also own the club through a different company.}

19 Feb 2020 20:45:30
Thank you for that Ed.
Hhmmm, Still not sure, Christian Purslow was on the board that raised those rules and brought them in.
Surely he would know if those very rules were being broken.

{Ed002's Note - Everyone knows what the rules are.}

19 Feb 2020 20:59:04
Ed, may I ask how you think they should go about ‘sorting it out ‘.

{Ed002's Note - I have no real idea what the club will do. There are few options.}

19 Feb 2020 21:48:27
So is the upshot of this that in a nutshell we are living beyond our means that at some point this will comeback to bite us in the backside I hope we don’t become another Portsmouth
. i.

{Ed002's Note - Right - and that is why FFP exists.}
