I know what I am about to suggest might appear somewhat sacrilegious but if we survive this year in the premier then I think we would all agree that the current squad is nowhere near good enough and needs a radical overhaul. That being the case can we really see our owners pump in another £100 million plus on new players I don't think so therefore we will need to generate the relevant income we could therefore sell Jack and John Mcginn and invest in a mix of experienced premiership players like Adam Lallana, Victor Wanyama, Ross Barkley, Luke Shaw together with some quality championship recruits like Said Benrahama, Alexander Mitrovic and Kelvin Phillips we could even try to get Axel back from the Mancs. I know the loss of 2 talented individuals is significant but if in doing so creates a stronger team then I would go for it what do you think.

John mate, I think something like that will happen anyway.
I would not be surprised if Jack moved whether we are in the prem or championship, and probably McGinn as well.
Mark, Daz and Myself were chatting earlier about us having some very good youngsters available right now, we need to use these people.
Otherwise its a waste of time having a youth development system.

Dave I agree we should look to blood some of the youngsters but I think we need to do it gradually having the likes of the players I mentioned gives us a better opportunity to rotate particularly with players who know the league where I think we went wrong last time was recruiting too many foreign players who knew nothing about the prem.

Unfortunately John, good English players tend to be a bit on the pricey side.
Take Matt Targett for instance 17 million was it, yet Guilbert who was less than half that is arguably as good.
You mention some good players though. I particularly like the idea of Wanyama who is the type of defensive midfielder I think we are crying out for. Our defense lacks protection, I think he would provide that. I don’t think he would cost the earth either.

Available for less than £10 million he is only 28 and I wouldn’t have thought wages would be too problematic either.

Fella`s according to Spotrac, Victor Wanyama is reportedly on 65,000 a week.

Just looked it up. Tottenham players are paid a lot more than ours, looks like Tom Heaton is our highest paid player on around 40,000 a week.

Apparently the wages are as I have listed below, some are very bizarre, see what you think, I will list the top 8.
1. HEATON £42,000
2. LANSBURY £40,000
3. GREALISH £35,000
4. TARGETT £35,000
5. TAYLOR £32,000
6. EL GHAZI £30,000
7. CHESTER £30.000
8. HOURIHANE £30,000
MINGS and McGINN are on £25,000 each.

Thanks for that Dave, it’s a bit of an eye opener that, very interesting. I think they will have to triple Jack’s wages to have any chance of keeping him, same goes for McGinn and Mings.
