Maybe this will put into perspective what Deano does,
and where he stands in Managerial terms at Villa Park.
Win percentages below are the 5 highest in the last 70 years.
And yes Deano has the third
highest win ratio 44.6 %

Graham Taylor 45.7 %
Steve Bruce 45.0 %
Dean Smith 44.6 %
Tony Barton 44.6 %
Ron Saunders 44.2 %

I am pretty sure that everyone on here would agree that
Graham Taylor, Ron Saunders, and Tony Barton are three of the best managers we have been lucky enough to have had manage our club.
I might add, GT won us promotion, and but for a draw on the final day of the season we would have gone back down.

My point being, is Deano as bad as some are saying?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wots O'Neil's win rate Dave?

Great stats Dave and a great post to boot too. As most know I didn't want Deano but have to admit he did a great job last season and for that EVERYONE should be grateful. Our owners have a plan and because we got promoted and FFP comes into play we had to buy within our means to try and stay in this league. Hopefully this will happen and next season we can build more all be it within our means so for all those who have a rant and a moan every week may I suggest again at least we are not Bury Fc at least we have a team to support.

O`Neill is 41.1 % mate.

Thanks Daz, I know you have reservations about Deano, and for that I more than admire your loyalty to Deano, I salute you mate.
My feelings could change in the future, who knows, but until I think he has shot himself in the foot, I will support him.
People keep saying stats don`t lie, I say to them why should this set of stats lie then.

Daz we night not be a bury, however also we are not a Sheffield United, a Watford a Bournemouth a Brighton a Burnley a crystal palace who have all been in the premier league and have lasted more than one season with far less money than we have spent, yes we are still there and hopefully will fall in to the category of the aforementioned list.

The difference there Scotty mate is that they have had stability in previous years good upper management unlike us who nearly went into the football wilderness due to Leaner and co and Dr Tony selling us down the river. We have now got a bit of stability back let's bot rock the boat again because we will be back to square 1 again. Again I understand people frustrations but some on here not including you by the way seem as though they would love our great club to be relegated just so they can say I told you so.
