Yesterday I thought was one of our best performances of the season so far. Apart from Hause I thought everyone had a decent game Engels was in my opinion very good up until that mistake. I remember Ken Mcnaught and when he came he was a bang average player Saunders stuck with him and he became a legend and personally I think Engels will become a decent Centre half for us too. Again it pains me too say but some of our fans baffle me like they want us to get relegated it is totally embarrassing and not only do you make yourself look like a right wombat but also gives Villa a bad name. I said before we need to be playing 3 5 2 but on the flip side if we play 2 up front and 1 gets injured we are back to the bare bones again up top. Why Drinkwater gets a game beggars belief and yes that is down to Deano but fans called for some PL experience and he's got that in abundance but for me he needs dropping and connor needs to sit in there. Elgahzi is lazy and I'd play Trezaguet in his place too. I still think we will be ok this season just but Deano has got to have a bit of rollocks about him and drop some players who deserved to be dropped. My team for Saturday is this.
Reina
Mings Engles Konsa
Guilbert Connor Trez Nkamba Tagart
Jack and Samatta.

Daz, in my opinion that is a very good post mate, and bang on the button with what we have.
I agree with everything you say, very well said mate.

Cheers Dave I get everyone's frustrations but I assume some on here think we should be top 4 in our 1st season back. After what we have been through the last 5 years that was never ever going to happen walk before you can run springs to mind.

Yes, well said Daz. I must admit I let off a bit of steam after the game, like most people. However it was very nearly 2-2 and do you know, I think most fans would have settled for that. We were all frustrated with the goal at the end, nobody more so than Engels I would imagine.
I do think Spurs exposed our serious lack of pace at the back though, all too often on the counter attack. Drinkwater also was far too slow and that put a lot of pressure on the back line. Hopefully Mings will be back for Southampton game and tighten things up a bit .

The funny thing is that if you only took out the absolute howler errors we'd probably be 5 points better off.
Cut out more of the silly mistakes and we'd be mid table.
There's only so much that can be coached and you can't account for a slip in concentration or a bad decision at the wrong time.
