So let me get this straight we had 2 strikers in kodja and wesley but needed a 3rd in jan now we have none and only buying 1 un tested in premier league who will take time to adapt and don't have the best scoring record? Where is the sense in that we are rotten at high level decisions there.

It certainly seems that way DJ, unfortunately stating the obvious who would want to join a sinking ship, so it's going to be extremely difficult getting any player good enough to save us.

Smith has gone on record as saying we want at least two, so wouldn't panic and assume we're only getting one in just yet mate.
Agree it's frustrating that its proving hard to get a proven striker in, but we have to be realistic. and that includes referring to ourselves as a 'sinking ship'. Yes, we're not in form and we're struggling up front at the moment. but're we're a newly promoted team only a few wins of mid table in Jan. So let's just keep selling Villa Park out and be the 12th man rather than be too negative just yet.
I remember last season people wrote us off too early and they probably felt a bit daft at the end. Don't get too high when we win or too low when we lose.

Good sensible post DJC, and yes it is frustrating and disappointing.

DJ no point sugar coating it, we are nearer being relegated than a mid table team. We are fighting for our premier survival and are we fighting on the field, not seeing much of that, are we fighting on the transfer front, probably, but without success. We have known for a few weeks we need something upfront, definitely before the Brighton game, still nothing. My big fear is too little too late. We are kidding ourselves if anyone thinks it could be alright. None of us want us to go down however I am seeing absolutely nothing that can put a positive spin on things. I hope Deano has read the riot act after Sunday and let's see how the players react. It still beggars belief that a premier team can go in to successive matches without a recognised striker and expect to get survival points.
