Is it me or does anyone else think we played more as a team without jack g. in the team? -as in we played more as a unit? -and as for a striker, what about getting iniacho (spelling? ) in from Leicester, has pace and an eye for goal, just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't see the game. While we can look to give it to Jack too often sometimes I also think second half is where he may have been missed.
By all accounts it was constant pressure by the end and one thing Jack can do is drag the ball out from deep, draw fouls to eat up time and try maintain short bursts of possession.
Without him I tend to see us just hoof it back to their defence every time ready for another bombardment. Not really what you want at the stage of the game everyone is tiring.

The way Wesley played yesterday we would have created more chances with Jack playing but been more open at the back. I read this morning Wesley won 80% of Ariel fuels yesterday and a lot of the time he ended up having to play it to a full back or a midfielder who was half way in our own half. We were too scared to get out through fear of being out of position and opened up, so there was no link up. For once I saw what I thought we was buying with Wesley and no one got near him to support, such a shame.

Think the whole ground saw what was going on though, been a while since I’ve seen everyone on their feet from one man just chasing the ball down like a man possessed and not giving in, fair play to him. Might not have scored or assisted but that was his best game in a villa shirt by a mile for me, when put into context by who the opponent was.

Their the best in Europe for a reason and the pressure and intensity they kept on us for 90+ minutes was astounding, where other teams drop off they step it up. Subs killed us because Guilbert was playing well and Luiz was brilliant but obviously one being injured and the other one knackered they had to go off. Such a shame but immensely proud of the team!

Come on Chris wes was brilliant 😁😁
I'm sorry if you think that mate.
It's not just the liverpool game it's most games he has look poor.
He is still learning the premiership way but he has a long way to go yet.
He may be a great buy end of day but not yet.
He has a lot to learn about movement in the right areas.
But I'm really hoping he comes good.
