Honest assessment on a few things.
Why are we playing defensive full backs at home, Guilbert and Targett have to play.
Jota isn’t good enough, watched every pre season match and thought he offered nothing; and just looks like he’s doing something when he isn’t. Jota, isn’t premier league standard
Davis isn’t ready, and we should have bought another striker.
Grealish needs to improve drastically, I love the kid but he needs to do better.
We played 3 technically gifted players in midfield today, use them, go up the middle.
Wesley’s touch isn’t there, I keep hoping to see Benteke bring the ball down, but all I see is Gabby.
Douglas whilst he made a mistake, will be gone next season, or even January.
We bought too many defenders, not enough attackers.
We had so much possession and no end product; sadly I think bringing in Sturridge would be worth it.
Was at the game, but expectations plummeted today, I’d love to be competitive but we need huge improvement on the ball.

We are to open and we need to be more solid in midfield, a goal scorer is a must aswell sturridge could be a good signing also bring bck rhm.

2 early mistakes from the 2 people everyone said we desperately needed made the difference. Take those out of the game and we were more than in it. I'm not convinced Luiz is the man for DM, seems more like competition for Mcginn/ Hourihane for me as he did very little worthwhile defensive covering but looked reasonable when pushing forwards.
El Ghazi is a runner but is lacking a yard of pace and the balls to him when there is space are terrible.
Full backs weren't epic as usual but nothing I can overly fault them on, Taylor even tried getting in the area.
I actually thought Wesley did as well as he could, can't score if never played in. Biggest disappointment is that we keep playing good cut backs but not a single person thinks to hold back on the penalty spot.

It’s early days still but think we will struggle to score goals when it matters in games.

Two things in your post I agree wholeheartedly with alex.
1. We need to play Guilbert and Targett
2. Grealish has to wake up, very slow to react, and is lacking awareness.
A point I would pick up on is Mcginn on the other hand is to quick, his mind
runs away with him and his legs can`t keep up, hense falls over.
I think the penalty messed us up today, it knocked us bandy, expectation is ridiculous.
