Agree guys, a centre half is an absolute must, Lescott has one year left at Tesco's I think he will come, the lad at Celtic will fit in as well. Right back needed guys, if we can get someone of Amavi's quality we will be tight at the back and have so many attacking options going forward we could well be the surprise package of EPL. Need these Achilles heel positions plugged and would take Joleon in a heartbeat.

Ashley Young guys, he's coming back.

Personally I would take him, on his day he is brilliant.

I have died and gone to heaven because our spending ain't stopping, Joleon from Tesco's, and another right back and we are PREPARED.

Can't see it. He'll stay at manuu agree about a new right back. Confused about centre half now baker staying, can't keep 5 ch happy. Would like a winger too UTV

2.) 01 Aug 2015 09:04:54
I can't see that happening TBH under LVG his Man U days re-ignited and hugely stated by LVG himself he was to keep speed, creativity, skill in his squad, why would they sell one of last seasons consistent performers :)

3.) 01 Aug 2015 10:13:24
I heard he will go to LFC on £110k per week and makes sense with CB up front need the service, can't see him coming back to us unless we have a new owner in waiting who will pay those wages?

Complete Villa spine removed, we need some quality additions and Lerner needs to splash some serious cash, I heard we are not interested in Austin and are going for Embolee, Praet, and the Senegalese lad was to play The bull s:::ters role in midfield. Less than 3 weeks to go and we need some serious deals done. Scoring goals is a massive issue for us so we need to act quick.

Fear for us guys, we will need time for the newbies to bed in when or if they arrive. Hernandez I would take in a heart beat.

1.) 20 Jul 2015 09:01:25
Villian, Hernandez doesn't want to play for Aston Villa. I think that Tim received enough money from the sale of Delph, and Benteke will be sold to Liverpool for £32,5 million when he passes his medical today. He is trying to sell Guzan for £3 million as well. That is £43,5 million combined. Plus if Steer, N'Zogbia, Hutton, Westwood, Cissokho and Bennett are sold, there would be more money for transfers. But like you said we need to act quickly.

I would sign Embolo for £7,7 million, Destro for £11 million, Ljajić for £8,7 million and Akinfeev for £9 million.

These are the players I want to see in Villa shirts this coming season.

I hope so guys, but I don't think we are being sold, more than happy to scoff humble pie but Sherwood said it was dead, guess it's being a part of being a Villa fan, lots of false dawns in our time.

Fingers crossed I am wrong.

Put it like this did Randy Lerner use Tim Sherwood to announce that he had given exclusivity to a potential buyer or to pass on any other information regarding the sale of the club "No" is the answer,so why would he use Tim Sherwood to pass on that the deal had fallen through. I don't think Lerner would of done that he is a respectable business man after all who conducts himself likewise and feel certain that he himself would of made it public knowledge long before the story broke.

2.) 15 Jul 2015 09:25:17
You are Wise indeed Old Man! :-)

As you say, you wouldn't expect Tim to announce news like this, or even have that much knowledge about it. If it was definitely off, and Lerner was keeping control, you would expect an statement from someone like Tom Fox or Lerner himself, or maybe even a Press Officer rather than an off the cuff comment from the Team Manager.

I suspect that there is a little bit of 'gamesmanship' going on. Either, Villa put Tim up to it to rattle a few cages with the potential buyers, or TS is being a little mischievous and decided to stir things up a little himself as it must be a frustrating situation for him.

I won't believe it is off until we get an official statement.

3.) 15 Jul 2015 10:05:34
Or as someone else said, he probably said its off so the players transfer fees we want won't go up an extra few mill because the teams know we have a rich owner etc, for example Sterling cost City 49mil. to anyone else he would have been 30mil (not even worth that tbh)

4.) 15 Jul 2015 11:10:36
Exactly my thoughts, I can't see Randy saying " by the way Tim, when you next have an interview just slip it in that the deal is off mate " I think it may have just been said as a bit of sarcasm either aimed at the press for continually questioning Tim about the progress or aimed at Lerner because the deal is taking so long.

5.) 15 Jul 2015 21:34:27
Hope your right fellow Villains, but as already stated TS is a bit new in this business and says it how it is, a big money buyer does not mess about and stumps up the odd million which is being squabbled about.

6 weeks is up in my reckoning on 20th July, so maybe hold on until then. It's next Monday after all.

Either way if RL is staying he must understand that he needs to invest to get the mighty Villa rousing again, the TV money has to be speculated.

Takeover has crashed, buyer pulled out its back to Randy now. Can see the Beast being sold and another long hard summer for us die hard Villa fans.

Wouldn't be too upset even without a takeover our transfer budget seems to have improved judging by the players we've bid for, been linked to and purchased. Randy will take a back seat now anyway and a new chairman will be appointed, just hope it's the right person

2.) 14 Jul 2015 17:16:07
I read the same thing - Randy will be the owner for the foreseeable. Apparently Sherwood also said that 'due to financial fair play' we have to sell before we can buy - so that basically means Tekkers is as good as gone. At least he seems to be putting a little bit more cash in this time around, so at least that's a plus.

3.) 14 Jul 2015 18:19:49
He also said he expects benteke to stay

Bit worried at the start with RDM but with Clarke in as number 2 ( must be best number 2 around) I really do think we have got a good mix, forward thinking and old school pairing, UTV. come on boys!

Villian

1.) 02 Jun 2016 20:27:57
I'm a bit worried about everyone calling Steve Clarke a 'number two'. Seems like a perfectly nice bloke to me and nothing like the number two I have just had to deal with following last night's chicken vindaloo.

2.) 02 Jun 2016 20:30:34
Absolute quality WittonWisdom, my advice, buy a cork in wickes, if nothing else, you got half a chance of shooting the cat!

Dr Tone'

Needs to be backed by the Villa fans who have for the past 5 years or so seen their team just be beaten into the ground.

Don't under estimate the wealth or the backing, the Chinese govt involved and they would love to take the Arabs and Ruski's on. They are not doing this to be number 2, they want to win.

Branding villa to a billion people whose country is planning to win World Cup in 34 years is massive. Every school kid to kick a football every school day is entering the curriculum.

Tone' is a bright, and I mean very bright. The blokes built 60 Cities.

Let's get behind him, let's get that fight like lions mentality back and get up and out of this Division.

Recon, Rui Kang Group, Lotus. Huge! .

Come on you LIONS!

Hi guys,

I think the Chinese guys who are about to buy us are not a " venture capital" group. They are a large pharmaceutical group which go by the name of Rui Kang. Don't know much about them at all and like one of the guys said earlier, I would love for it to be Larry Ellison but it sadly isn't.

Bottom line, a striker , a CB and RB, love our energy but unless we can convert to goals then there is no point. Love my Villa, always will but we are just a few key players away to give us balance

I hear that it's the Chinese who are buying us, the same guys were attracted to Albion. I agree it's more or less a done deal and that they are sanctioning the purchases. The same as Ellis appointing MON whilst Lerner was buying us.
