I must say after watching the Derby game my belief in Villa has been reinstalled, a fantastic performance against a side in form that could have quite easily yielded a lot more than the 3 goals we achieved. So credit where credit is due and If Deano can keep the boys performing like that then we stand a good chance of promotion this season despite my earlier concerns.

Having said that we still have an important derby game to win and a tough match against Forest before facing the massive challenge that next month's fixtures bring. The matches during December are without doubt tough ones which could leave us sitting well behind the leading pack if we are not on our game, so for me it is a key month if we are to have any chance of going up. On the other hand if things go well we have the opportunity to take points off a few teams above us which will help in closing the gap that we now face.

I am a lot more optimistic than I was a few weeks ago after seeing yesterday's result but the Christmas period will tell it's own tale so let's see how things look come January before getting too excited.
