In reply to Flackie, from last night, only just read your post.
Mate, I really don't mind who we get, after all they are just people made of flesh and blood, with different names, and money will undoubtedly be their main incentive and not Aston Villa
If whoever it is, gets us playing good attacking football, who wants to entertain and score goals, and instils in his squad a comradery, plus that important never say die attitude, I will support him/ them no end.
Is that a lot to ask, I personally don`t think so, after all home games cost me in excess of £90 a game.

That’s a fair point Dave.
Sadly I think the money aspect is a little unfair, we all go to work to earn what we can when we can. Can’t blame the earner, more the people willing to pay.

I do think that we should follow the old Liverpool mentality, and have some one with villa at heart.
I think this will bring the passion.
I hear Yorke wants it. maybe with petrov and Mellberg coaching.

Martin Lawson, Olli Members.
A couple of solid defenders who appear to retain VP connections.
Yorkie, no experiance.
Merson?
In simple term s we just need someone who can motivate the players on the books. We have by far the best squad in the division, however they need motivation.
Bruce didn't, Calderwood could never do the job.
Agnew joined but got lost in the VP maze which seems to envelop all and sundry.

I get what your saying here Flacks and Dave but I think it is imperative that we go up this season otherwise we will be in the right brown stuff. I would love to see Mellberg manage our club but think now is not the right time for him. But I can see both your logics in it. They have to get this appointment spot on but as you both know who ever they choose some of our fans will never be happy.

True but don't you think if moyes gets the job its a backward step we might as well of kept Bruce in my view there both the same, don't get me wrong I'm not moaning just thought we would may be aim a bit higher ie Dean Smith, quique flores, maybe henry.

Flackie you are right about the money aspect, and maybe my thinking is a bit harsh.
How about Rogers as Manager, with Mellberg as no 2 that would be really good, then I would have passion in abundance with McDonald, Petrov, and Delaney as the supporting network.
With all those guys singing off the same hymn sheet, who knows how far we could go.

Villadave. that’s a great shout! And would be the start of our own boot room.

One thing. we need the appointment soon, international break is a perfect two weeks to start to get a new stamp and ideas on the team.

Can’t stop thinking perhaps John Terry is not a bad idea?
He knows the set up, most of the players, like Lampard has worked with some great gaffers. Our defence is shocking and perhaps, just perhaps he could be player manager? It could be a real quick injection of the type of Keegan passion that was never long term but could bounce us back?

Can’t think that if he came in then everyone wouldn’t be behind him, even the doubters? Who would be his coaching staff would be vital too due to lack of experience. Does he have all his coaching badges he needs?

As for SB his treatment from some supporters has been toxic and there was no coming back from it. Grateful for his steadying the ship and sailing to play off final and wish him well for future but time was right to go as toxic atmosphere was only to get worse. VTID.
