reports are that our owners have targeted poch, and potter too replace our manager, hopefully its true and they sack him. if he goes it has to be 1 of the 3, potter, poch, dyche, as a long shot i'd say bielsa as well.

It was going so well till you said Bielsa-another merchant of 1 style of football-to be honest neither poch nor potter will accept,I'd go Sean dyche, but I guess that means we'll be getting Scott parker if they pull the pin.

The only Potter we are likely to attract is Harry! Come to think of it might not be a bad signing ?.

You need to listen to Paul Barber, Brighton’s CEO on TalkSPORT this morning, you will get a very clear view on how Brighton regard Potter. Given the money they have received from transfers this summer they are under no pressure to let him go, and similar to Villa they have a project which Potter clearly buys into. I think it’s extremely unlikely he is going anywhere in the short/medium term.

LOTI: We have a a project? Please share as I fail to see any such project unless that is Project Relegation. If that's so we're well ahead of the target.

As I’ve pointed out before, in 2019 Purslow stood up and said there was a plan which would take five or six years to achieve and the objective is to put us back regularly fighting at the top of the table and in the Champions League. At that time we were in the Championship. He also said there would be ups and downs along the road - so I guess we’re currently on a ‘down’. So, given we’re only three years into it, perhaps we’re suffering from short term impatience which is only natural when you’re passionate about the club. Just a thought ?

Re: the 5 year plan, we were promoted in 2019 which allegedly put us ahead of schedule, however since then we have not recruited well enough and have a gross spend the thick end of half a billion pounds! By any measure that is a lot of money for what?
We should have expected a marked improvement. The owners surely must have expected and deserved more. Spending money is no guarantee of any measurable success but we should not be in this position. We should not be in the bottom 5. Could be bottom 3 by 10pm tonight.
Glass half full? Based on what has been served up this season, yes.
Impatient? Maybe
Frustrated? Yes.
Worried? You'd better believe I am and so are the owners I reckon.

The project AvFc is to be challenging for Champions League football by 2025/6 season because as Menace points out the board were fairly clear in terms of the plan and the fact it was likely to have bumps in the road along the way. In terms of our spend over the last 5 seasons our net spend is £221 million a lot of money I accept but a long way short of the half a billion you quote, and let’s not forget a lot of the players are worth significantly more now than when we bought them eg Martinez, McGinn, Cash, Watkins etc. In terms of our project v Brighton’s it appears Brighton have a clear direction of travel which in fairness we have too ibut the expectation level of the fan base in Brighton’s case is far more realistic than ours, and I am sorry to have to say this but there fans certainly appear less fickle. Having said all of that and with all due respect to Brighton I am sure Potter will move on to bigger clubs but in all probability to one with a less toxic environment than ours.
