I can't help but ask "why did Bruce fail to get these players to perform? "
Most of the players were bought to the club while he was manager but nearly all failed to respond. Our style has changed from defending at all costs to attack and attack.
I love watching after the way the team performed early in the season.

Did not work for Bruce because he is a manager who's first thought is to defend and hope to a chance to win.
Smith just goes for it home and away,
Very simply really bruce is a dinosaur.

I think for a start playing Tuanzebe at CB, which is where he played pre-season.
Bolasie has only recently got himself fit.
And playing attacking football with an attacking team.

Oldvillan, surely the answer to that is very simple, most on here have spoken about players being played out of position, and only having one system. "negativity"
Can`t we forget about the bloke, he gave us a degree of stability, and now he has gone.

Dave none of us should forget, owners need to understand that there is no place in modern football for the likes of Bruce, mad mick, puliss, Hughes, Big Sam, moyes, keeping on reminding fans of these guys failings may just save other clubs from the dross that these so called experienced managers dish up. Good news is message is getting through not many of the aforementioned are currently employed in league football.

I agree with your theory scotcaffu, the fact is it won't be me reminding them about out of touch managers,
Other clubs can have that type of manager with pleasure if they want.
Bruce has gone, and I could not be more pleased.

I was trying to consider how Bruce would have set up for games away to boro and WBA. It makes it clear why he failed. I predict this could be close to his selection.

So little creativity. Compare that to smiths selwction. Admittedly he has less injuries to contend with and bolasie was always going to take time. But I also believe smith would not have loaned out elphick or green. All if’s, but’s and maybe’s but it’s fairly easy so see why Bruce failed.
