Any of you cheeky chappies hearing that hogan may be allowed to leave in january to help fund trying to buy sam johnston? heard it on the radio and a few bloggers who aren't normally that far off the truth, much as i think johnston is a good keeper, IF, we sell hogan i would prefer if we bought hugill from preston (for me he's class, and there's a touch of the sheringhams' with how he reads the game), or another striker i wish we'd buy is ollie watkins, said he was good a couple of years ago, now he's in the championship at brentford he still looks class, defo premiership quality, and as for a keeper, why don't we try and get tim krull in on loan from brighton, as i remember it, he didn't let newcastle down, but just to put it out there, if we need to sell a striker in january, frizbee off kodjia, he's all about him and would drop us like a stone if a premiership club came in for him, which they will do in january for sure-wouldn't want to be steve bruce in january, his mobile is going to be in meltdown i reckon!
UTV.

Hogan seems awful to me, we’d only get 2/ 3mil for him. He probably touched the ball twice in 20 minutes against blues, once to give the ball to their full back and once to miss control and put it out for a throw. This whole “he’s the best striker in the league we don’t play to his strengths” is a myth, he’s had chances, hundreds of them, he just misses them. If we play 442 anytime soon with Kodj our it will be hogan and Davis up top, maybe then he can prove me wrong.

I think Hogan would suit playing with Davis,
Hogan is better than he is showing for me,
At Brentford who are a footballing team who pass mostly on the floor he looked very good with his movement and finishing,
Bruce's teams do not play that way so I understand why it's not working for him,
Playing alongside Davis who can see a pass and with his hold up play it could well suit him,
With kodija it's a different ball game because he is not a team player,
So I'm hoping for Hogan to get his scoring boots on against Preston,

Don’t think we’ll play 442 against Preston away, their decent team. And with that hogan can’t lead a line on his own.

Bruce has been saying for ages he has been waiting to play 442 and now was the time yet he changed it yesterday with one up front,
So I will be disappointed if we play one up front tomorrow,
It seems to me he can't make his mind up now!

He makes up his mind, otherwise we wouldn’t have a team. It’s basic football, if you can’t see why he picks to have an extra man in the midfield sometimes then I don’t understand what your actually watching. Second city derby - we lose that and it’s like losing 5 games at once, we cannot lose, keep it tight in the midfield don’t give them space. Fulham at home - decent team, play good football, dominate the midfield, throw an extra man in to choke them out. Preston away - decent team, no far off us, have an extra man in the middle to keep it tight for an hour then mix it up.

Would you say we looked Better when Davis came on to partner kodija?
Bruce is a negative manager who sets all his team's up not to lose and to keep it tight,
I don't care if it was a derby against our rivals we could have won that game with more positive tactics,

Why keep it tight against Preston?
They have most of there defence out injured,
Surely we must take advantage of there weakness,
If Bruce sends his team out again to sit back and hope for that breakaway goal I will not be happy,
What I want to see is a little more adventure with his tactics,

Bruce is also using a midfielder as a striker or as a defender or the other way around like he did with Onomah and Davis against Birmingham. I hated the fact that Bruce used Davis as a midfielder and Onomah as a striker, they should only for the most part play in their natural positions.

If you think Davis has been used as a midfielder and Onomah as a striker, I’d get down to spec savers or just give up with football mate.
