Any of you boys heard the jibba-jabba about our old friends arsenal sending not one but 2 scouts to spy on kieran davies, seems the spuds like the look of him too, like its already been mentioned on here, time for steve round to earn his corn and start dishing out some new contracts double quick lively! like at united, its rare nowadays to have 5 or 6 top quality prospects at the same time, let's not get complacent, walkies, grab hold of wyness at your next meeting and get the ball rolling, its the least you can do fella!

Davis, O'Hare, Doyle-Hayes and Clarke - after that I'm struggling to see the other 2 or 3 top quality prospects your talking about. Suliman and Green are already on lengthy contracts, RHM seems way too injury prone to get anywhere, Blacket Taylor doesn't seem to be on the same level as the rest, Lyden is on a long contract but Bruce doesn't seem to fancy him as much as Doyle-Hayes. Only players we need so sort asap are Davis and O'Hare because their in the spotlight nearly every week, the other have only been exposed to cup games so will be less known. But agree them 4 need new contracts soon, 5 years long with huge buy out clauses, wages go up as and when different clauses are met I. E. they play their first 15 games, we get promoted and they play in over 25% of league games - that sort of thing.

Don't even put a buyout clause in. That's only compulsory in Spain. green has only got 2 years left I think.

You all are forgetting the club isn't being run by "no show Lerner" anymore, it's not like we need the money, granted one of our young Stars getting their heads turned, otherwise can't see anyone leaving as the good Dr will see to that.

But out clause will stop us being forced to sell for cheap tho, some of these lads don't actually support Villa, if one of the big boys come along they will be tempted, if they start handing in transfer requests it ends up in a situation where we don't want to sell, they don't want to be here, so you either sell for less than their value or let them sit on the reserves every week. A huge buy out clause ensures we at least get a good deal.

A buyout clause doesn't mean someone has to pay that figure. It just means if someone hits that figure then u can't reject it. Someone could have a 100m buy out clause but if a team offered 10m it's up to the club to decide if they want to sell. Just don't put a clause in then u can demand what price you want.

I'm afraid to say if a young player wants to leave villa for more money and at a top 4 club he will go simply as!

Cracking points there fellas, i'm just worried that if one of them toodles off, as teenagers, the old chestnut 'the grass is greener on the other side'might come into play;look at lyden, i really rate him, but he seems to be the type of player who needs to play week in, week out, for example, look at mooey at huddersfield, played reserved football at citeh, hit the glass ceiling, goes to the hudders, plays every week, he looks 10 times better, just saying boys, just get them on an improved contract and then its easy street to bat off any enquiries for them unless it suits us.
